Bear Creek Golf Club
About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Golfer Reviews
Extremely disappointed
No sand in the sand traps, no water coolers anywhere and it was 94 degrees. The greens had not been cut in several days and the staff was extremely rude about showing up too early and threatened to charge an additional 12 dollars for the early arrival. Extremely disappointed!
Awful greens
First playing at this course. The staff greeted us when we arrived there (very friendly). The course sits in beautiful forest area. But the layout is a bit tricky to find some holes. But the worst part was the greens. I never seen greens mowed the way they did at this course. All the greens had baseball fileds, mowed in alternate directions like how baseball fileds mowed. Because of that the ball rolling was very inconsistent. Will not.go back.
Bear Creek June 29 2019
Great staff and course was in really good shape except the greens are rough need to be cut and roller the speed was slow took a while to hit the putt hard enough to get to the cup.
Good for the price
It’s not fantastic by any means buys it’s a good layout except for a few holes. Greens and fairways were in good shape. The tee boxes needed work.
Decent shape
This is a great course, condition is more than fair for 20-30$. Great staff as well!!
My only suggestion is put some water on the tee boxes! Other than that it’s a favorite for our group
Nice course in Monroe, GA
Bear Creek is a nice course. Greens were good considering the extreme temperatures were having. Some of the bunkers were under construction. No practice range or area to chip, the course lay out was a little confusing. No beverage service or water on the course.
Bear Creek twist and turns
Polish up them irons boys, you're going to need em. Nice combination of easy and tric holes.
Nice Day
Fairways and greens were fast. Need to play after a good rainfall..Course was in indecent shape for this time of the year.
Windy day in the ATL
Another fun round in the 15mph winds at Bear Creek. It made for some tough golf but it was still as enjoyable as always. No water on the course is still confusing.... because the have water stations throughout the course that are simply not used. Bunkers are rocky and the greens look patchy but played very well. Great Course..... & Value!
Could be a very nice course
It appears they don’t have the money to properly maintain the course.. Greens have a fungus or something. No driving range. Poor sign direction on how to go from 14 to 15. Mid April, May course is in better condition later in the summer. A lot of pretty holes, just a little on the edgy side in condiition today.
No drinking water on the course
No drinking water on the course played 18 at 3pm finished the front 9 went to the clubhouse and it was closed for the day. WTF THANKS
Great course.
Great course. I love the layout. If it had a driving range it would probably get much more play.
Great condition for early spring.
Overall good round with couple I had never played with before. Course conditions were really good.
