Fairways of Canton Golf Club

Due to recent rain, carrtpath only, which we had to ask about. Several greens had bare spots. Just did not enjoy the layout of course.

Course is short, but very demanding. It's in great shape. Playing with someone who knows the course is highly recommended.

Low single digit handicap here. It's challenging from the tips as it narrows in, but is still fair and not overly long considering it's a mountain course.

It opens up really well from the forward tee and plays quickly for average golfers.

My only gripe is the greens when they're not cut. I'd imagine it's usually because of rain. Overall it's a great value for the money!

The course is in the best condition I have ever seen it. The practice facilities are great. The starter was friendly and everyone on staff I encountered was very welcoming. The layout is challenging for a high handicapper like me. I like how they had American flags on the pins for Memorial Day. The cart we used was in good condition. The views from 17 & 18 are just stunning. #18 is the most fun par 5 I have ever played. #15 is the oddest par 5 that bends around a corner. I hate the hole but love the challenge. I think my best option is long iron off the tee, mid iron 2nd shot & short iron to the green to keep it in the fairway. Overall a great day on the course. I will definitely be back.

The vistas at Fairways of Canton are truly unbelievable, especially from # 17 green & #18 tee box. You can see what appears to be both Tennessee & North Carolina mountain ranges...

The course, in and of itself, needs to have better attention paid to it, as the greens were in stressful conditions, tee boxes & portions of the fairways were, in places, very sparsely covered in green grass. I would think given the amount of rain, sunshine and warm temps the course would be in much better shape. Who knows, maybe the best time to play this course is in the fall or early Spring?

Played in a golf outing here May 9. I've played at Fairways before and will be back once again (playing May 13 actually). Course is always in decent shape. I can imagine some of the storms in April caused some damage to fairways, but overall in good condition. #1, #10, #17, and #18 provide some spectacular views and layouts. Greens ran VERY fast when I played, but I certainly don't mind. Just have to adjust your putting. Staff is extremely accommodating and the club house is nice.

Very nice course but I will avoid unless I become interested in playing 4.5-5 hr rounds. I have played this course probably 10 times and it is always painfully slow..... no course marshall, little golf etiquette among the patrons. Too bad because the course is really nice. Maybe if i get the first tee time of the day i can play at a reasonable pace.

As a senior golfer (70 in August) I am prone to playing executive courses in the area because it helps my iron play. However, I do like a "big" course occasionaly. This course seems to have it all, great fairways, beautifuly maintained greens and best of all wonderful vistas. The guys at the desk, Justin and Andy, were great and even gave me a bag of balls to warm up. I enjoy a good course no matter what my score is and manage to savor any great shots along the way. This course can be as challenging as you make it like playing over water instead of around it, but also plays well for a senior from the white tees. Since I concentrate on accuracy my drives are not that long but from the whites they are OK. I did find it remarkable when a senior couple magically appeared in front of me causing three singles to become a threesome and held up play for awhile. Don't know if that means the local resident members "sneak in" for a few holes occasionally. lol Played the back nine as a single like I had the course all to myself. End result was a great day of golf!

Two of us played this course for $45. Well worth it. The greens were Bermuda and very fast and true. I will play the course again.

Enjoyable day. Good weather. Nice staff. Greens tolerable but not up to usual standards. Fairways and roughs good.

Course was in excellent condition, very exciting course, first 4 holes were good but after that we had to wait at every tee box before teeing off. Very dissapointed with pace of play

This was a last minute choice during a recent visit to the area. The course was cart path only due to heavy rains the previous day. However it had drained well. I was created by a very friendly pro shop staffer who had me on my way in minutes. Caught up to a couple of local twosomes who were very gracious, allowing me to play through without hesitation. All in all a great course and a pleasant, unencumbered, round of golf.

This is an interesting course. It requires direction rather than distance, having said that, there are several par 5 holes that can be reached with a longer drive and a good second shot. (especially in the winter months). The greens, over the winter, have been really exceptional. They are Bermuda and putt very true. The root structure is so thick that a ball barely leave any mark unless they've had a substantial rain.. I enjoy the course but have trouble because I have a tendency to spray the ball which at this layout can add many strokes to your score.

Good course for hitting a variety of shots. Greens are fast but not in the best of shape. Several holes have two tiered greens so it can be a challenge. Great views from the tee boxes. Some greens are really small so accuracy is key. Hopefully the greens will improve. Overall not a bad course for the price.

Have played this course many times. Never had this slow of play before. This course doesn't employ a marshall, but certainly should. Slow play is a big reason people either don't play a course or don't like golf. Conditions were great, greens, tees, fairways and traps. Staff and amenities good. Only detriment is slow play by a TWOSOME! After calling the pro shop to report, nothing done.

I have played course about 7 times since moving to Laurel Canyon. Good value. Challenging course, not long but have to hit it straight and greens require positioning for putts and require ones best. Lot of character

Have played this course a few times. It has a reasonably challenging layout. The greens are very fast but run true. It's a course that any average golfer can enjoy.
