Fairways of Canton Golf Club

Very nice golf course enjoy the layout has some great views greens were awesome course in very good condition only negative were some of the tea boxes needed some grass.

Course was in great shape for a mid-winter round and was challenging to my duffer abilities. The elevation changes would make this an extremely challenging course to walk and it even taxed my cart in certain areas.

Driving range was a mat only set up on this day, which made it difficult to practice tee shots, something I desperately need to work on. Other than than, the range was fine, as were the pitching and putting greens.

Very nice and challenging course (but all are a challenge to me) with a very friendly and helpful staff. It is an hour from my location but it was worth the drive. Thank you Fairways of Canton for a pleasant experience.

Love this course. Lots of elevation change. Great challenge for any level. Greens are fast but roll true.

1st time playing on course. Very pleased with staff and course. Visiting from Vermont so it was the first time playing in 3 months. Another 3 months before I get to play up there again. Would be nice to plan another day this coming week before returning to Vermont. I liked the hilly terrain and views. My son and I played with a couple of local players who knew the course which was very helpful.

To not let the secret out would be just unfair given the great Golf Now price I played this fine course at.-----------this course deserves in my opinion full 5 star praise top to bottom, the best, most beautiful course this higher handicapper has ever played on. The pic on GN falls very short of doing the course justice.

This course is outstanding in design, condition and scenic beauty with the elevation and rolling terrain making it quite a golfing challenge. The greens were in great condition / many challenging multi-tiered as were the fairways. You will play good lies from every conceivable slope--up, down and side--so definitely will provide you opportunity to work on your full game. As the GM / owner told me afterward this is a thinking mans course---if you aren't thinking ahead or can't hit it reasonably consistently where you want to like me then trouble can be found so don't show up short on golf balls.

# 18 is as pretty/scenic and challengingly designed a finishing hole as I"ve played..

I'm a higher handicapper so this course beat me up pretty good--not as much second time around as I was " thinking" more -- but the conditions and beauty are certainly on par with or exceed that of most private courses to make Fairways of Canton now my home and favorite course to try hone some skills at.

Great course.....

Challenging holes from the tips but you can't use driver on every par 4 to have the correct angles in to the greens. The course makes you think.

When you walk of the 18th green at fairways of canton you will be so tired. The course is buetiful with a practice putting green nothing like the real course the putting teen is fast. The clubhouse is buetiful and the man behind the desk was very nice. The food in the restraint seemed to taste good and they where fast at the turn. The driving range was nice just hoping for a few more balls in the basket. The fees at this course are great considering your not technically in the mountains. The first 2 holes are when you can make your birdies. The 3rd and 4th holes I find a little unfair. The 3rd you have to hit a iron on a ten yard wide fairway with water on the left and right of the fairway. Then you have about 200 yards over water to a dumb green where they expect you to make a 4. The 4th hole is tough a dogleg right over a bunker with another narrow fairway. Ounce you lose a couple strokes on those two holes then you go to the short 5th hole. I like 7 a lot a par 5 easy to get in two but is a major risk reward. 8 and 9 are nice holes after carding a birdie on nine I was ready for a good back nine which did not disappoint. 10 is like 1 and 11 is a tough par 5 dogleg left that sets up on your drive. 13 is the nicest hole on the property downhill your drive will go about 320. 14 is the best par 3 downhill and 15 is nice but challenging. 17 is a good par 3 but it is so long. When you get a look at the mountains on the top you know that the money was worth every penny. 18 had the best views on the property with mountains that stretch for miles. 18 is a tough par 5 where you can layup or go for it on the second shot I went for it and hit the green but my ball rolled of the back in the water. The thing is if you go for you can still take a drop and make par. Like I said this course is stressing and mentally a challenge. Overall I highly reccomend this course.

This was the second time I've played this course. It was in good condition overall and has some pretty interesting holes and can be challenging while not crazy difficult. The greens were pretty quick, which I kind of prefer and rolled true. The only complaint I have is that the tee boxes seem to not get watered. Trying to get a tee in the ground is ridiculously hard. It was the same the first time I played there. As one other reviewer said, bring a hammer or maybe a pocket drill to get a pilot hole going. Me and my buddy got stuck behind some really slow guys who somehow ended up with four more guys on the back nine. Someone driving around and keeping the pace flow better would be a big help, since so many people don't seem to know what ettiquette is. But since I got a great deal on Golf Now and had a $10.00 bonus, I really can't complain too much. I'm sure I'll play there again some time.

This is a nice intermediate skill level course. Plenty of dog legs, both left and right, some very tight in some places. Multi teir greens and well placed traps. The tee boxes are hard as a rock so bring a hammer to get your tee in. The greens are cut very short and are hard also but not in terribly bad shape. This course needs some rainfall to soften up the greens and tee boxes. NIce staff, range and putt/chip area. I would recommend it at this price point (i always play during the week)

A course where accuracy is a premium, can tee off with a 3 wood or hybrid on most holes. Greens always in great shape and rough always up, can score from fairways don't need to try and over power course.

Fun layout but man the rough off the fairways and around the greens are so thick you will never find your ball. Had a great drive on 18, 2nd shot on the collar. Went down to look and could NOT find the ball. The guy behind me got a bit impatient so I just gave up the birdie. I know we haven't had a lot of rain but this is the 2nd time for the experience. Frustrating to say the least..
