Several holes need re-design
residents in/on the course are experiencing substantial damage to their homes, cars and even risk of being hit by balls from either really poor golfers or golfers who are not familiar with the course. A line drive ball from a tee nearly 200 yards away nearly hit me today. My family has planted thousands of dollars worth of trees, even buying some for the course. At one time, the tees were moved and the damage and danger subsided. We've asked the course to move the tees (as they did on another hole to keep people from being hit). To no avail. We've asked for more trees to be planted, or any of a number of other solutions so the golfers have a positive experience without being chased down by residents when their balls are smashing out windows, siding and worse. I've witnessed residents throwing balls back on the course and yelling at the golfers. Today, I had a conversation with the golfer who almost hit me while I stood in my front yard so far away from the course of the tee box that you'd almost have to be golfing blind to have made the shot. Of course he said he'd come to my house to see the damage and of course he did not. I hope he's at home putting his clubs on Craig's list. Please if you play on this course or any course, look at the maps near the tee box - it will tell you exactly where to drive your ball - and it's far from people's homes. Thank you.
Mountain golf without the drive
This was a pleasant surprise find in the North Metro area. The name belies the course as it is hilly with a few blind shots but beautiful vistas at every turn. The greens were a bit bumpy but the fairways were nice and the layout spectacular.
Slooooow
For playing at 9am on a Saturday, our 3some was stuck behind an abysmal 4some. At the turn, the starter watched them hit two balls each off the tee and continually slow the pace of play. We spoke up and were received with a shoulder shrug. The course is fine but there's other places to play where you're not stuck for 5+ hours on a Saturday morning. It will be awhile before I give them another chance.
Great now that the grass is green!!
Course is in great condition. The fairways as green and the greens roll true.
This course was not enjoyable.
The course was in poor condition. I felt that it had way too many blind shots.....I felt it was actually dangerous to hit most if the time. Had to keep riding ahead to see where the next group was and where to hit.
A Gem
This course is beautiful- the conditions are good-they have numerous tees for every caliber of golfer- I enjoy playing Fairways every time I play it. Check it out- you won 't be disappointed
Perfect golf
Perfect golf. I really wish golfnow would stop sending so many solicitation emails.
Canton Ga
To many blind shots, no direction and no yardage markers to be found, needs GPS. greens have to many rolls and ridges for a steady pace of play. Without any knowledge of the greens the high hcp is done for it. #8 par 3 up hill 185 blue tee and 3 small levels of the green >> pin was back not a chance even hitting the middle level. 2nd shot big bowl right, swings right if hit into it and a high lob to the back pin. #9 front pin water pinches in 12paces to the pin, bad pin location and I made a 3. Needs work, flatten some greens and add yard markers and direction posts. Started out at 41 deg not much above 53 all day. 14-15 par 3 no info on drop of 100+ft 180yrs right next to the entrance road right side >> bet a bunch of cars have been hit. Major earth move is needed and greens redone for the 12-20hcp to want to come back PS 4.2 hcp and a 79 4/16 my birthday and cart 16.
Good course, Great value
Beautiful mountain layout! Course continues to be in pretty good shape, with firm, fast greens that are not mature yet. Really need to know layout and where to hit on many holes. Great value thru GolfNow!
Glad I gave this course another look
This is the first time I've played this course since the city of Canton took it over and I loved it. I played the blue tees and even though it's only 6,000 yards it's still plenty challenging. The course was in good shape and the greens rolled nicely. Most of the greens are two tiered and are really quick if you're putting downhill. Good grass for chipping around the greens. I've been playing a lot at Callahan but I will move some of those rounds to this course. The overall conditions, grass in the fairways and around the greens, is better. The staff is very friendly. Pace of play was good We played in just under 4 hours on a Friday afternoon. I can't wait to play here again.
chance of rain kept everyone elase away
Really fun course. Each hole has it challenges. Views are awesome. Great staff and food in club house is always tasty.
Doo doo brown
Canton is ready for its close up. Stay below the hole and book a two spot to save par. One up is one
Down if you know how to how to draw with a pencil.
CAUTION
The greens, fairways, and t-boxes were in good condition. This is a fun but challenging course. However, CAUTION: If you make a t-time with the pro shop they will impose a 24 hour cancellation policy on you, which they notify you about by e-mail AFTER you have made the t-time. I don't know of any other courses have such a policy. I feel certain that they don't inform you at the time that you make the t-time because it would cost them your business. You may as well make your t-times via Golfnow.com and get the $16.00 rate since you are going to be committed to it either way.
Pleasant surprise
I've played almost every non-private course in metro ATL but have never been here before. Course is in very good conditions for winter and it is obvious it will be excellent once it greens up. Holes are tight and placement is very key. A few quirky holes but they are fair. I will be back.
LOW ROUND
I love this course, very fun to play. love the multi-level greens. shot my low round this weekend. only been playing for 8 month's and i scored a 93.
Great for the $$
Great course that has several "birdie holes". View on 18th tee box is awesome. Staff is super friendly.
Great course great staff
The course was in great shape and the staff (Drew) was very helpful and friendly. I will play there again very soon. This is what a golf club facility should run like. Thanks again!
Great Sunday
The course was in surprisingly good shape for all the rain and wind that they received two days prior.
Very enjoyable!
fun day
Greens are super fast and great shape. What great day for golf

Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
witnessed several occasions where golfers were not respectful of residents or their homes on this course. need more trees in various areas - #8, #4, few others. not fun watching people dodging balls while they are trying to cookout in their backyard.
