Fairways of Canton Golf Club

Here is the good: Friendly people, picturesque setting, and quick play allowed. The layout is super with virtually every hole sitting in your own little world of nature.
The NOT good: Greens are horrible. Some long cut; some short. NEVER a true role. Many greens are not what I would call undulation, but rather mounds (and a couple cliffs!). The traps have no sand. Fairways are battling weeds.
My guess is this course is not run by "professionals", but rather members that like to think managing a golf course just involves cutting grass.

Some fairways you need to be very very straight! Not a forgiving course that is for sure. Challenging long par 3s. Has some pretty cool views on back 9.

this course really surprise me. Very well maintained. I would have rated as pristine. However they were doing some maintenance on the greens. I am defiantly looking forward to the next round.

Great scenery and very challenging course. I do not recommend this course for high handicappers. Fairways are tight and there is alot of foot high grass next to fairways so its easy to lose balls that you shouldn't.

You need to be accurate in this golf course. From the whites it plays around 5,400 yards, but most fairways are narrow. Need to use landing areas and there is no need to hit the ball long.

The golf course is in decent shape, but fairways need a little attention, as there is crab grass growing in a lot of fairways, and some bunkers need attention. But nothing that would prevent me from playing there again.

The greens were just aerated but they are playable and seem that could be in good shape soon.

I would play in this golf course again.

Really enjoyed playing this course. The course is challenging and has a good layout. If you hit from blue be ready to able to swing the club well and strong. The 18th hole makes the whole day worth it, great view looking back South. Evaluated tee to a landing, then down one more time to the green. If your feeling good you could take a short cut and make an eagle. After the round we had a lunch and refreshments in the club. Club has great view of the 9th and 18th hole so you can watch golfers coming in.

I have played this course several times and enjoy it move each time. If you like to hit driver on every hole this might not be the course for you but, if you like to play a course that challenges your course management skills, this is the one. If you would like a great meal afterwards, this is the place. It was the perfect finish for a great day for my wife and myself. The view from the back terrace is fantastic.

The course was convenient to get to, 15 minutes from home. I enjoyed playing at a different course other than my home course.

I thought the fairways & greens were in great shape, however the sand traps were in awful condition, hard, crusty, and in places looked like children might have played in them. My overall experience was good.

Fairways were in decent shape but many of the green were in need of repair. Some hole were a little difficult but hole #15 is
a terrible hole. It is horseshoe shaped and you have to hit
8 and 9 irons or you will be out of bounds. The hole really needs to be redesigned. Some good views from the Tee boxes of the mountains. For the price I would rather play Bridgemill or
Lake Lanier. I won't be coming back.

This course is good, and it is good value for the money. It has some beautiful views - specially on the part-3 14th and par-5 18th.

The only negative experience I had was at the Pro-shop when I checked in. I was told that I needed the confirmation number from Golfnow, which I didn't have. However, I was able to pull up my reservation and show it to him. I booked through golfnow all the time, and I never had this issue with any other golf course. It seems like their system didn't communicate properly with golfnow reservations. He didn't know what rate to charge me.

We played the forward Tees and had a blast. Fairways are wide but once it goes even slightly off, the ball is lost. Greens are in good shape. There are bunch of trees down because of storm that they need to take care of - specially near 5th tee.

Had some very challenging holes. Some holes had spectacular views.

Not an easy course, though.
The course seems to require major cleaning of broken trees. The vast parts of fairways are also needed to be rebuilt.
I paid less by virtue of hotdeals and I got exactly what I paid.

The staff was not cordial from the time we walked through the door. By booking a 7:10 tee time, I was expecting to play around that time. However, the staff immediately informed me that 7:10 tee times did not exist. We ended up starting at 8 a.m. Also, they advertise a 6% savings by booking on Golfnow. However, their regular price actually comes out cheaper than the advertised price after taxes. The staff does not maintain the course well and did not make this a pleasant experience. Normally I do not write reviews and can move on to another course. However, I wanted to stress the dissatisfaction I had with Fairways of Canton.

I played this course when it first opened. The new owners have made a lot of positive improvements to make it more playable. The greens are super fast but true.

I played this course a year ago when it was being renovated and it is in awesome shape now that it is done. Greens are a little stiff and hard to get the speed, but everything else is great. Kind of challenging with the hills, but a great course especially for the price!

Fairways are good. Greens are some of worst I've ever seen. Bare in lots of places so they have to cut them super short to get a decent roll. Hardest greens I've ever played on. Played on 20 dollar courses with better greens. Ball will bounce and sound like its on a hardwood floor. First and last trip to this course!! Staff was friendly was the high light of trip. Staff is only reason 3 stars.

You should try this course, it has something for everyone, there are some interesting holes for the long hitters especially hole 3 which has a Canyon to negotiate then a lake, it also have some very open holes, and very tight holes.

I love the 18th hole, I am not a big hitter and you stand way up high and look at an impossible to reach fairway, and then hit the ball, it flies forever - then the decision - to lay up or take on the lake, what a great ending.

You will have a great time on this course, I did.

One more thing I should add they are very honest, My charge with GolfNow was $45 however when I got there they only charged me the course rate which was lower at $40

Liked the course for the price! Pleasantly surprised. Would play another round again!

This course has improved tremendously it is looking great I will be back the greens are the fastest I've putted on ever everybody needs to play this one you can't beat the price

I have played this course multiple times but this was the best I have seen it. Played early in the morning on a Saturday and their was no wait.
