Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Great course
Red Bridge is one of my favorite courses in the Greater Charlotte area. All aspects of the course are in wonderful condition and the staff is always friendly. Their rates have gone up to $49 on the weekends, which is high for any course in this area, in my opinion. If I can play for less than $35, I'm there. This a course that everyone should love.
Long and challenging.
From the first tee to the last you will enjoy the scenic views and hilly venue that makes up Red Bridge. The multiple par 5's on the scorecard indicate this is going to be a long course...and it is. #18 is over 600 yards! Careful though as many of the markers and tee boxes don't match yardage wise, especially the Par 3's. The greens are firm, but roll well. Overall, a good course that I'd play again.
Great layout
I play a lot of golf and reviews are very important. Everything was great. Grass in fairways and tees not perfect but played ball down with no issues. Greens large and smooth. staff very friendly. Off the beaten path but worth the drive. 45 minutes from Charlotte. Good green are the most important review and they were very good...fast
Tough but fair
Red Bridge is sufficiently challenging. I like courses that require me to use every club in my bag. Red Bridge certainly forces you to do that. The greens were in good shape. I wish I could play this course more often.
Great course!
Go ahead and plan to be paired with another groupif you ddon't have a foursome cause this course gets a lot of play. I loved the layout and condition although the fairways didn't have much grass but it was still only early April. I can't wait to go back in a few weeks to see if that's changed. Don't hesitate to play this hidden treasure you won't be disappointed.
Great Course
Great layout and natural beauty. No homes on the course.
Hurricane Winds
The course was great. The wind was blowing 25MPH all day. Great to get out and play with friends. Will return again to play. Great course for the value.
Windy Day
Red Bridge is a tough course for an average player, lots of run offs into creeks, bunkers, woods, etc. The greens were in spectacular condition, perfect rolls. Overall a fun day, but pack a lunch.
Beautiful topography, creeks, bridges, woods
The course personnel were all very friendly; ranger came around to see how pace and things were going. We played on a somewhat misty day, but got 18 in and were so glad we didn't let a rain forecast keep us away. Would be hard to walk this course; as there is some distance between a few holes and it is pretty hilly. Some holes with creeks and ravines require you to take a peek before hitting to avoid hazards. We would definitely come back - can't wait for things to green up - it will be breathtaking.
Great course! Great conditions!
This is a great course and well worth the drive. The course has lots of elevation and great scenery. The greens are well kept and very challenging.

Great greens, great layout. 4" of rain the night before so understandably cart path only. With all that rain course was in great shape for this time of year.
course and layout is good
Pace of play was slow.
Average round is about 5hrs
great weather today but.....
Overbooked
It took 1 hour to get to the 3rd tee box.
Waited too long between each shoot.
No ranger to push along.
Fantastic greens
Red Bridge is a great golf course, located away from the crowds you encounter closer to Charlotte. The course was in good shape for Febuary, and the greens where great. The proshop staff was wonderful, as we had a problem and could not make our tee time. One phone call, and they assured us that we would be able to play, when we arrived. Two and a half hours later,we went staight to the first hole. Thanks Red Bridge, we will be back soon!
Good course that will only get better with age
I will start by saying that I really liked the design and layout of this course. Yes, it's a little strange passing by the clubhouse twice before you even tee off on #10, and yes, the driving range is a good hike from the "clubhouse," but the actually golf course is unique. This is not a course for someone that struggles to break 90 on a basic, flat municipal course. You need to be able to pick your spot on several holes and really know the distance you hit certain clubs. Many of the holes have landing areas that will give you a great second shot, and missing these areas will mean a lost ball. I really enjoyed the challenge this course presented and how inviting the greens seemed; hitting a green in regulation isn't particularly difficult here, but actually finishing the hole is. The greens were painted of course, but they looked terrible...someone never learned how to color inside the lines. It's just sloppy. You could hear the greens 'crunch' underneath your feet, and although they ran true, it wasn't much to putt on.
I will be back, however. It's one of the nicer courses near Charlotte #still about a 30 min drive#, and playing a course tucked in the woods is a much needed getaway after a long work week.
Great condition
Course is in wonderful condition. It is a difficult course for women but really enjoyed the round.
Very impressed!
Was amazed by the greens. Very fast and firm. Greens rolled true. Fairways were clean ruff well maintained. Smooth pace of play and very impressed with the whole course!
Staff waited when I was on the greens putting!!! Great round!
Geat golf course, the greens and fairways were in great shape
challenging golf course that plays long from the white tees, well maintained and friendly staff.
