Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Unbelievable Challenge
One of the best courses in the Charlotte Metro area, greens are true and you need to be patient with the greens, be a true reader of the greens. Just an amazing course have played this course 6 times within a year. If you are a 10 handicapper and under you will appreciate this course and the challenge of trying to handle this course...
I just found my course for the summer.
Beautiful and awesome track but the pace was slow. I think it had more to do with circumstance than anything, I was a single behind 3 threesomes. This is a great course with awesome greens. A yardage book is a must for the first timer like I was. One standout is the amount of carry necessary from the back tees to hit the fairway. It seemed like i was carrying 200+ off most tees. I can't wait to play this course again.
the layout is awesome it will require more than 1 round to figure out where to hit it as there are many blind shots.
The course is a classic placement track. You have to think about where to place the ball for the next shot. Out of the fairway is extremely penalizing which is what a placement course should be. My complaint is that the fairways were very thin which is unusual with all of the recent rain. In addition the greens were not holding and very firm. They felt slightly burnt, most greens are raised and there is trouble long. A shot to the front would hold up due to the elevation, but one in the middle would not hold due to the firmness. A placement course should reward good shots in the fairway and on the green. Bottom line this place just needs to grow some grass and it wil be awesome!
Great cours overall
Course was in great shape for a great price. Very nice course just a little out in the boondocks
great course with many challenging holes. Fun to play with many risk reward/reward holes.
This course is quite a haul from south Charlotte, but worth the drive.
The Greens are one of the most challenging, they are rolling so fast it's hard to place your shots and I had too many three putts despite hitting some good shots. Beautiful terrain, wide fairways and a lot of water hazards makes this course a must for any serious golfer.
The tee boxes are in good shape and fairways are in good shape.ALL the greens are in great shape and the staff are very helpful and frinedly.
My memorable hole is the finishing 18th par five 620 yards from the white tees(660 from black tees),the longest par 5 in NC! You will be tested trust me,I bogeyed this hole.
Good bang for the buck.
I have played here several times now with my son. We keep coming back because of the course condition and the challenging nature of the course.
Great track
Great layout, fast true greens that are very hard (any thing low will roll through the green) only concern was our round came to a grinding halt on 10 behind a 4-some and 5-some, hope that is not a policy they keep when they get more play. You will enjoy this course even if you get stuck behind a 5-some.
tricky
First time playing this course and it plays a little tricky. A few fairways you can actually drive through so having the correct club is essential. Even the par 3's are tricky. Pick the wrong club and you could be in a ditch 20 feet below the green. The fairways are in great shape and should be excellent in week or so. The greens are soft but not too slow but also hard to read. Course is very hilly as well.
Great, great course
Wow, wow, wow!! That is all my buddy and I could say as we enjoyed our round at Red Bridge. Course is in phenomenal shape, fairways were the greenest I have seen in all of Charlotte. What impressed us most were the greens. There is some severe undulation on some of them, and some possible hole locations that would make even the most experienced golfers cringe. But the greens were in close to immaculate shape, just incredible. Course is difficult, as the natural terrain creates some interesting thinking, but it is still playable at the same time. Mason, the general manager, was very friendly and helpful. All in all, this is one of the best kept secrets in the Charlotte golf scene and well worth the drive to Locust.
Greens are in good shape
Overall I give the actual course an excellent rating. On the other hand the clubhouse is a little rancher trailer and the staff was not too inviting. The only people that waved when you drove by were the grounds keepers. Even some of the players were extremely rude... got hit up on about 5 times and we were not playing slow at all. Finished 18 holes in less than 3 hours. Everyone just seemed to be in a hurry. Could of just been the people that day we went out. Will probably give it another try in the future.
A nice coarse for what I paid to play
This was a very challenging coarse. If we did not have another 2 some playing with us, we would not have known how to play the coarse. There was no diagram showing how each hole was shaped on the scorecard or even on the hole markers. The greens were tricky to read and made putting tough. The holes were also layed out in a very unusual format.
first time at red bridge. challenging, yet right there in front of you. Had fun.
has difficulty, especially on back nine. greens and fairways are well maintained.
The course has excellent practice facilities
Although Redbridge has no perminant clubhouse or proshop and the parking lot is yet unpaved, the operation of the course seems very curteous and professional. I have enjoyed playing the course and found it to be well managed and maintained. It seems to play longer than it is.
Challenging but fun course
It's not Quail Hollow or Augusta but it is probably the best course I played on so far this year and I've played a dozen times already. Although Watch out for #18 that's all I'm going to say.
This course could be great.
Staff acts as if you are a bother to them. The scorecard does not show the course layout.
Nice track with several challenging holes
Fairly new course with a small pro shop. No food except snacks. The greens are very firm and fast. Fairways need grass, but it is spring.
Some greens are deceivingly challenging!
We just went at the beginning of Spring, so we are unable to evaluate the course as a hole, since maintenance was just done and the turf is still dormant. The rating system should offer N/A options. I would recommend this course based on these reasons: it was challenging in the way some of the greens are set up! We played the first nine. There are some very short holes for women, but they are all about placement. If not placed correctly, there are sand traps, and deep hills. The course overall is the most "hilly" course the four of us have ever seen. It makes judging distance even more deceiving! Might be a good opp to try out a golf app for this course! If you are unable to walk up and down hills, this is not the course for you. It was a different course to play, so it was nice for the variety!
course is fun to play
Course is much nicer in summer than it is in winter and spring. Greens are good for the most part but the fairways are terrible. Still a fun course to play.
the course was great cant wait to play it when every thing greens up
it was our first time playing this course and it was a great experience it was fun we talked about making it our home course its not that far from where we live cant wait to play it again
# 18 is a killer
Nice track. Greens a bit slower than I thought they should be but true. Can't wait to see it all green. Good value. Play was a bit slow on the back.
