Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
About
Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Great course, great value.
1st time here. Beginner golfer, staff super friendly, as were fellow players. Played on a busy weekend, but the pace moved along great. For a beginner, this is a very challenging scenic course. Expect to loose a few balls, but will learn a lot through the course. Greens are fast, putt light. Fairways are long.. Again, challenging, and nothing wrong with hitting from the "gold" tees. You'll have more fun with better placed shots and less time looking for balls that fall out of sight!
Beautiful course
This course is in excellent shape, and is very scenic.
There are plenty of hazzards...water, bunkers, and deep gullys and woods.
I don't think it is for the novice player, unless he enjoys losing one or two balls per hole; let me tell you, it is very easy to lose a balls here.
Other than that, it is a terrific course.
Quite challenging
This was the first time I played the course. It was in great shape. Unfortunately the score cards did not give you a picture of the layout. Ok if it is a straight away course. This was anything but.
Why play anywhere else
Red Bridge has become the "Hidden Gem" of the Charlotte area, We have been playing here since it first opened and have seen some ups and downs...It is now being maintained and run as well as most private courses in the area. The green complex is one of the best and they are running fast and smooth...The staff and grounds crew are friendly and helpful even to grumpy old men like myself....Still have some 5 hour rounds on the weekend but most of us aren't that good so relax and have fun....
One of the Top 10 public courses in Charlotte area
Red Bridge is always in great shape and relatively inexpensive. This course is on the far eastern side of the metro area (about 10 mi. past I-485) but well worth the drive.
Course challenging & in good condition
Course is challenging, yet fair. Although the greens appeared to be cut verticut and top dressed, they still putted true and fast. Fairways are beautiful and fairly wide. Course is pristine. Only saw one home on the course.
Couse was one of the best I have ever played.
The greens were immaculate- no bare spots or weeds. Bunker sand was the soft "beach" sand that had been groomed. Fairways were cut perfectly with litte wear.
Long challenging course.
Will test every shot in your bag and them some. Greens very receptive and in great condition.
Not as easy as it looks
First, very beautiful course although some areas are still being improved. Staff was first rate. Course, I think, started off about average difficulty...for me not hard. But definitely got tougher as It went along. Greens are ridiculously fast, on some holes way too fast. Some forced carries were too long for the average joe. Started to lose a few too many balls, not something I do usually, but ball placement became pretty critical since hard fairways and VERY uneven terrain left you wondering which direction it might bounce...frustrating at times to know where you hit it yet not find it anywhere. I admit to not being a great golfer, low 90's, but this place left me ready to leave even before the ultra too long par 5 18th. Recommend it? Only if you can play some target golf, still expect to lose a few mystery balls, putt well on hardwood floors, and in general just want to have a good time and enjoy the scenery. On my scale its a 6 of 10 and would go back when Im a scratch golfer...never?
Very, very nice course.
The rough was rough as they were just mowing it. Great course, greens really nice and true. Course is nestled in very pretty area. Fairways were very well groomed, greens, tees also very nice. Just a super nice course.
Nice Course - Great condition
Course was in great shape and very little traffic on a Sunday morning.
Excellent course located near Charlotte
I really like playing this course be cause it has no homes and the layout is very nicely done. With all the rain the greens are in great shape and ball marks are rare to find. It is also common to see deer on holes 17 and 18.
very nice course,staff was great
Had a great time even in the rain. Round took a little long because of a outing going on.
Challenging course
Great challenging course with some good risk/reward holes. Staff friendly and pace of play was 4hrs and 15minutes, which was very good considering rain all day and cart path only. Definitely will play again.
TOP 2 FAVS IN CHARLOTTE
GREAT COURSE! LOOOONG!! 2 par 5's that are a touch under 600 and par 5 finishing hole that is 618yds. from the White tees. This course's length just keeps coming at you. The mini verde greens were rolling very true and very receptive to approach shots. A must play if you live in Charlotte. Only about a 15 min drive off 485. please do us all a favor and keep these greens looking and great and repair you pitch marks! Enjoy
playing this course is a must!!!
Fabulous course, challenging lay out ,great conditions, greens looked like they've just been aerated but the ball was still rolling good 1-2 more weeks and it will be just perfect, I will play it again definitely!!!
This course is nice
This course was very nice. We played a foursome and the price on Golf Now was great. I'm a newbie player and there were not a lot of players so I was able to go at a pace that was comfortable for me. Start of the course is a little confusing, meaning you go to one side to play the first four holds and then the other side og the course to play 5 +. The only other thing to point out is The address on Golf Now is not the correct address for the course. My navigation system could not find the course based on the address on Golf Now. I recommend going to the actual website to get the directions and correct address.
This course was a beautiful course to play on. I will be back again!
This course is a beautiful course to play on. It would have gotten a pristine rating but it had rained the day prior and still had some very soft spots. I will be back again and bring some more friends with me.
Great Course for the Money
I have played at Red Bridge quite a bit in the last year. I find it to be one of the best values within an hour radius. The course has been traditionally well maintained. Right now the greens have been aerated, but that has to be done. Book early in the day if you like to play fast. Playing after 10 o'clock is going to be every bit of a 4:15 to 4:30 round.
