Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

The course was closed
When we got there to play, the course was closed. Didn’t receive an email on the closure. It’s a Saturday at 10am and we are from out of town. What course is going to have a tee time available? None

Really enjoyed the course had some challenges, staff were very friendly.

Great short course. Fun & has challenges. Great course to work on your short game.
What a great course
I have played many other golf courses in Sarasota, but this is by far the best course and have great experience. It is not crowded, and debt PAR 65 course! Really enjoyed it and will play again
Gulf gate snowbird
Front nine greens a bit gnarly. Back nine in better shape. Lots of water like most FL courses.
Undulating Golf Course
It’s amazing that a golf course could have that many hills in Florida. This course is.a real ball placement course and fun to play if you like a challenge.

Love this place but the greens are beginning to get taken over from weeds I hope they address that other than that the place is great

This wasnt a great day of golf, I didnt do that well. BUT the course was in great shape, the layout delightful and staff very friendly.
