The Groves Golf Course

About
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Very good course
Course I’m very good condition except a few greens that are far too wet. Rest of course in good condition, some sand traps need work. Enjoyable and would play again.
Greens getting suspect
The Meadows over time has allowed their Highlands course to deteriorate and never quite brought it back. Currently the groves course is developing a great weed infestation on the second green and other greens the weeds are beginning to encroach from the edges of the greens inward. They need to stop that or the course will be ruined. Normally has been a short course that has been kept in good shape especially the greens. Would be a shame to let that go.
Challenging
I found the course to be in very good shape. Some of the greens needed a little bit of help but the layout was very good. I wish it was a little longer one or two more parr 5. Would’ve been nice. And more parr 4 but overall, I recommend The greens were very challenging which I liked
Better than expected.
Have not played this course in four years. They had it in very good shape. The greens were rolling 12s and able to hold/spin shots. . Fun layout. The driving range is a negative and the pin placements. The day we played were borderline illegal. But overall would recommend especially with high prices right now everywhere else.
Short game tuneup
Friendly staff, nice layout, lots of water- excellent short course to work on that part of your game. Bring a few extra balls
Satisfied
The course is in pretty good shape. The greens are fairly fast and running true. Overall the course is a good value.
Ridiculously slopey and weedy greens, unkept grass on rough and fairways, No drink cart or clubhouse access
Course is pretty and staff is nice, but the greens are insanely slopey, covered in weeds and lichen, and look like they’ve been run over with a tamper so theyre very flat and fast.
There are a lot of sections of fairway and light-rough where the grass is long and weedy and covered in leaves, so we lost multiple balls on the fairway or just off.
And there’s no mid-round clubhouse access and the clubhouse is a mission away from the course, there’s no on-course snack or drink bar, and we only saw the drink-cart one time and the server looked but just completely ignored us when we tried to flag her down. If you want any drinks or snacks, you need to get them before your round or bring them with you.
I usually golf in canada and this is my first time in florida, so maybe it’s just a difference in standards..
Hardest short course you'll ever play.
Buy an extra sleeve at the proshop.. Great layout.
GPS not correct
The course is nice for a fun round, some easy holes, a few tough par 3's. Years ago they changed the course, so my GPS was off on the back 9, and the GPS on their carts is off on hole 18. Minor, but annoying
