Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Groves a pleasant surprise
Wasn’t sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. Staff were great. Greens were in fantastic condition. Layout made you think and pace of play was terrific (a 3 hr round)
Good Shape
Fairways and greens in good shape. Tee boxes a little rough here and there, but overall good short course. Only got backed up a little on the last couple holes.

nice…but
fairways and greens were very nice. golfers very friendly. but a little curious why we were scheduled so tightly. very slow play on front nine. groups in front did a good job moving along, but too many groups booked into the hour. course was very interesting and would return. but can’t expect a 4 hour round.
Starter hates Golfnow
12:01 tee time. Starter made us wait for late members. Course was wide open for 15 minutes. Members were 10 minutes late. Backed up whole course. Didn’t like Golfnow . Old starter miserable old goat.
overpriced for a short yardage course. Tee boxes were awful. fairways lacked good grass and the greens were good.

Too Short
It’s nice for a course to have 3 “18” hole courses. It’s also nice to have 3 legitimate 18 hole courses. The Groves course was nice but really too short, 8. Par 3’s out of 18 holes does not make a true course. Fairways were ok, sand traps really pretty well maintained, greens were very good.
The Groves
I've been playing this course for ten years and never get tired of it. It's challenging for direction - not so much distance, but that's what I love about it. Staff is very friendly. Could use a better driving range (if you can call it that) for the Groves.
