Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Golf review
I am from out of town. Lexington, KY.. My friend and myself were really impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the course layout, greens were in great shape. When you have good greens, other small stuff can be over looked. We really enjoyed the course.. We made tee times for the next day to play Highlands. Nice course also. They were over booked and were running short on carts, But greens in good shape. Nice course layout. Thanks for two good days of golf..
Great layout
Playing executive courses in the area. Best layout here, followed by peridia best condition, Terra Ceia best pace of play, and village Green last in all categories. Tee boxes were rough, slow play only because of foursome in front of us. Great for iron play practice.
tricky
The course conditions were marginal/ greens are small and tricky /so that made it interesting
"Problem"
I booked a tee time, twice, with 2,3 other golfers. In both instances, the starter let the other people start well before tee-off time, before I came(and I came early both times).
In both instances, other golfers who still had room for someone else to join them, declined. Seriously, this is a public course and it would have been nice to play with someone else! I am a seasoned golfer and know how to play, as well as the rules of golf.
First golf since Sept - so all things considered a great round. Course is challenging enough to keep your interest and has some holes you can score on.
Great setup
Tee boxes need work
Course is in better shape than 2021. Short course but challenging. Came within 3 feet from stepping on an alligators tail on 17. Didn't see him/her as I was looking for my ball by the water.
horrible conditions
From the staff at check in, to the bag drop they couldn't make you feel less welcome. "oh you got one of those deals" "practice area for members only" Some of the tee boxes just dirt, rough overgrown and traps a mess. Could be great as the layout is great.
