Amazing course
One of the best courses in San Diego county hands down.
Here you will get a bang for your buck, very accessible green fee for such a beautiful course.
Very well maintained, the greens, the fairways, the tee boxes, everything just blowed me away.
Will definitely be playing here more often.
Great course getting a bit burnt
Great course here but since I played a month or so ago a lot of the fairways which were superb last time are showing burnt areas.
Still one of the best bets in the region
Nice course
It’s always a joy playing this course. T box, fairways and greens are always maintained. Sometimes the pace of play is a concern. I did not see any Marshalls out on the course but then again it was late in the day. Over all I’m always satisfied playing this course.
Great track
Fun and interesting course. Greens putted well. Kitchen was a lifesaver - breakfast burrito was excellent.

The course is really tough on the back nine and very narrow fairway

We had a great time and a great day playing golf on a wonderful course well manicured and great pace of play.
Some holes are challenging others more forgiving . It allows one to feel better about their overall play.
A hidden gem North of San Diego!
My son got a recommendation to play this course from a friend. I made the 1 hour drive up based on his input - am I ever glad I did! Native Oaks is nestled in a valley just outside Escondido - you don't know it's there until you literally pull up to it.
I'm a 69 year old average (15 handicap) golfer who doesn't hit it a mile and this course was perfect for my game. The white tees play around 5900 yards and were a perfect distance for me.
The greens were the highlight of the round - running around 11 mid-week, soft and putted true - can't ask for anything more than that! The variation of holes was welcoming - the front 9 was designed 5 years ahead of the back 9 so they play very differently - the front is more forgiving, the back tighter and more penalty-driven for errors made, particularly on approach shots. The front is more of a links style and the back traverses woodlands and trees on every hole.
The staff, from Tom in the pro shop to Jim the starter to the snack bar people, were extremely friendly and made you feel welcome. Full bar service and good food in the Shawii kitchen! I would highly recommend
