About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

Fantastic Course for the $
Definitely one of the best courses in the area, especially with the new layout. The staff does a great job with course maintenance. Greens were recently aerated, but there’s no way you could tell that unless they told you.
One of my favorites
I really enjoy playing here. They have flipped the 9s since last time I was there. My only complaints were they were stacked up and the greens were a little tall and therefore slow.
Nice course
Fun, nice looking course. Greens a bit slow, a couple were not in great shape, but overall good.
Only complaint: while the fairways were not really tight, much of the rough was deep bermuda. Errant shots disappeared, causing excessive time searching.
Do not make a reservation for One!
I made a reservation for one person. I wanted to play by myself to work on my game. Chimney's told me I had to play with three other players after I paid. They would not refund my money because I booked through Golfnow.
Had a great day of golf
The only reason I didn't put excellent under condition was the greens had been sanded. I am not sure if that was mentioned on Golfnow. It may have been. In a week or so that should be no problem. They have reversed the 1st tee and the 10th so it may have been a while since I played the course. The hole signs could be better if it was my first time I would have gotten lost for sure. There are not a lot of distance markers on the fairways. It would be nice to have 150 and 200 markers.
Nice course
When we were told at check-in that they aerated and sanded the greens the previous day. The course was in good shape but the greens were definitely a challenge. The layout is challenging - tee boxes and fairways were in great shape.
No warning
I booked about 5 days in advance. No warning of aeration.
Not only was it aerated but it was heavily sanded along with pellet fertilizer on the greens.
AND we had to wait on half the holes for the kid mowing the greens. He would finish the green then drive up to the next one So we were waiting around a lot. The lady at the desk told Golfnow when I complained to them that it was a cheaper price and there was nothing they would do.
I get to play once a week normally so it was a bummer to say the least.
Not happy in Winder ☹️
Green conditions
Course layout was good. Greens need some loving care. Would be nice to putt through bumps, small craters or pitch marks.
