The Chimneys Golf Course
About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

Enjoyable round
Very much enjoyed our round even when it was the dreaded, "cart path only". The course came through a week's long rain quite well. My only wish would be the greens would be a bit faster, they are on the slower side but still in great condition. Highly recommend the ride out to Winder for this gem.
Chinmeys
Great day for golf at the Chinmeys. The course is in great shape. The weather was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this course to any and all.
Best Course for the Money
I’ve played here a few times this season and the course has been in great shape every time. The greens had been punched in the last couple weeks so this round only cost about $30 with a cart. The greens still played well, and the overall experience was excellent as always.
great day and value
Though I've played here before, the recent rains made me wary of this days round. Pleasantly though, the course drained wonderfully and all but 2 of the greens were in wonderful shape despite recent aeration. The deal I got here was great and there was hardly anyone out due to the wet weather so we played 18 in 3 hours!
Great bang for the buck
Let me preface this by saying I've played here dozens of times and will continue to do so. That being said, the last 2 times I've played here, the ball marks on the greens has been ridiculous. I fixed probably 5 or 6 per hole yesterday as did other players in my foursome.
GOLFERS, PLEASE FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!
That aside, I love this course and it's a great value. It's always well maintained, has a good mix of challenging holes and some reachable par 4's. If you're a scratch golfer, it might not be for you, but for mid to high handicappers, you can't beat this course for layout, value and always great playing conditions.
Now if we could just train people to fix their ball marks.
Great Day
Playing at Winder Chimney made the Labor Day Holiday perfect. Everything exceeded expectations.
Why have tee times?
Why have tee times if the course doesn't keep to the tee sheet? I had a tee time for 7:10 Sunday morning. The starter allowed a group to tee off during my tee time which delayed our early morning start. The starter was nice but couldn't explain why other players were teeing off when my group was supposed to tee off. Very disappointed that the starter allowed a group that didn't have a tee time, tee off when I was supposed to begin my round. Let's hope they follow tee times on a regular basis and this was a rare occasion.
As for the course, slow and bumpy greens. Fairways, bunkers, and tee boxes were in good condition. Be careful getting a cart that is not under the carport/roof or you will be soaked in water falling from the roof of the cart (no warning or suggestion from the pro shop employee). I would not recommend playing on a weekend, poor management. It would be a nice round on a weekday when their lack of tee time awareness won't be as frustrating. There are much better courses in the area for $70 (weekend rate)
