The Chimneys Golf Course
About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

not for me i left hot and dry
The big thing to me was the was no cold water coolers on the course we did not no this yes when you make around there is a water dispenser but water was warm and it was 95 that day, I asked the manager why they did not have water coolers on the course and responding by saying it was do to insurance rates I told him it was the first time I had ever played a course that didn't have water coolers if insurance is the reason what are you going to do when someone has a heat stroke because they can't stay hydrated
Also I told him I was going to write a bad review and he reply by saying I will just take it off , I will be watching golf now to see he will be able to remove it that easy if he can then your reviews don't mean anything
consistently in great shape
Not a difficult course but very fun to play. Always seems to be in good shape.
This course is a hidden gem
The chimneys offers a unique experience. It's settled in the hills so it has many pretty views and hole layouts. Worth playing at least once. Several of the par fours are driveable if you hit it around 290 300 yards which is always fun.
Staff is not friendly
My wife does not play but loves looking at the courses I play so she rides. I have e played many great courses in the southeast and this is the 1st time I was required to pay for her to ride. If I was a single I would have a cart to myself so why make her pay? The next complaint is there is only 2 portapotty on the course. In the baking sun I didn't want to go and my wife didn't either. After we finished our round my needed to use the restroom very badly. Only problem was it was after 6 and the Mickey mouse club house was closed and nobody would open it to let her go. Lastly there are 2 water fountains on the course. The water tasted like creek water. Be warned about this place. The course is fun to play and in great shape but the staff is lacking.
Great Little Course
Fun course to play!! Has 3 drivable par 4's but only one reachable par 5. Remember to putt a little harder as the greens are receptive but slow. Food is top notch, as there is usually a friendly lady grilling hamburgers and hot dogs!! Must play if you are in the area, especially if you are looking for a $20-$30 tee time. Only cost $28 for a Sunday afternoon tee time!!
Nice course, great value
Challenging but fair. Well kept course. Definitely on my list to play again.
Very enjoyable.
Beautiful golf course, in great shape, and a pleasure to play. My only criticism is that was only two water stations on the entire course, and with the hot Georgia sun, one could be unconfortable.
Chimneys, Winder, Ga
Greens were in excellent shape. Course overall is good.
Heat was a killer but we got through it. Hope to play there again very soon.
Beware of sand traps
course in good shape
Fairways and greens
But sand traps in poor repair
Not worked in long time
Trap catch a lot of water
Very hard and packed
Algae on surface of greens
Need to be tilled and better drainage
Trap a major problem
If they worked traps I would play again
Great value for nice course
This course is always in good shape has a good layout and is always fun to play. Overall it's a very nice course and you can't beat it for the price.
What a great little course!
I love this course. It is definitely beautiful, its not too long, it has challenging as well as feel good holes.
A really nice place to take a beginner or high handicapper where they can score well too.
Would not recommend this course
This course is in the middle of a subdivision with kids playing the course who it appeared never had played golf slowing everyone, the residents have golf carts and all you hear are kids riding up and down the road hollering. Course wasn't bad but like playing in a Caddyshack movie.
well kept seceret
Great layout, interesting features with the old homes chimneys located throughout the facility. Greens were in excellent shape as were the fairways. Most holes straight forward with a look at most holes from the tee boxes. Play was quick with little or no waiting.
Chimneys Course
Enjoyed round with good friends, course was in great shape
Great except weather
Everything about this place it awesome except the weather didn't cooperate. Love playing this course!
no rain check
We were rained out and could not play back nine.We asked for a nine hole rain check and they wouldn't give us one because they said because it was a hot deal the course doesn't get any money and Golf now gets it all. So if the course won't give us one I feel that Golf now should.
Chimneys
The pace of play was way too slow. Everything else was good.
great facility for the cost
We were looking for an inexpensive place to play on Memorial Day weekend. I live on one of the other courses posted here on GolfNow but we chose the Chimneys because it was half price and in better shape. It is a great golf facility usually in great shape.
Course in excellent shape
I play chimneys frequently for several reasons: great layout (not in a neighborhood), great value (under $30 / often under $20 on Golfnow), friendly staff (Michael is awesome), good prices on beverages. As far as the condition of the course currently, probably the best I have ever seen it! The Bermuda fairways and greens have come in beautifully this year, the greens are rolling true; very smooth but also soft and receptive with approach shots. It is a generous golf course overall with wide fairways on most holes and very few hazards. It is a fairly short course from the forward tees which allows for high handicap players to enjoy their round but also offers a fair amount of challenge for those playing from the tips. I am an 8-handicap and frequently shoot in low 70's here so it plays slightly easier than most courses for me but I find it to be a lot of fun to score, so I love it. If you are looking for a a great round of golf that won't break the bank; this course is for you. I played on Monday 5-18-15 and played in just under 3 hours so it is usually pretty quick, which is nice.
You commented about the wrong course. This course is in the sticks and very much worth the drive.
tbe chimneys of winder is not in a subdivision. The Ciimneys of winder is on ha highway 11 Monroe highway. you should come at this Chimneys course.
