About
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a 27-hole course that sprawls across rolling terrain. It is one of the most popular public courses in the Gainesville area. The holes are divided into three nines called the Village, the School, and the Mill. They share the same scenic landscape but they each offer a different set of challenges. Five sets of tees provide the option of playing to your skill level. The Mill is the shortest of the three nines. Strategically placed bunkers come into play on almost every hole, you'll find plenty of them on the par-4 seventh. There are back-to-back water features starting with the second hole, the golf course's only water holes. Chicopee Woods GC also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens available.

Todays golf at Chicopee
Last week I played 4 very nice courses at the beach. None of them could hold a candle to Chicopee It is without a doubt the finest public golf course I have ever played and I have played many. Fairways are great and the greens are even better. The only thing I could recommend is that the rangers do their job on pace of play. Today we sat on a par five waiting on a foursome ahead of us. Those guys were all walking off in the woods looking for balls it was ridiculous. We finally had to skip a hole or it would have been a six hour round. I strongly recommend that they enforce pace of play if that is done this course would be among the best I ever played. Well done Chicopee!

Disappointed
No reason for the greens to be hairy and slow. Chicopee always has great greens., but they were very slow.

Pace of play.
Marshall’s should be used to enforce pace of play. There was a twosome that held up the entire course. There were at least 6 groups of four between us and them and usually at least two groups waiting on each tee box.
Also the Schools greens were extremely shaggy and slow compared to the rest of the course

This course offered a nice challenge. What I liked most was the condition of the Greens.

The greens were slow and hairy. Greens are usually better this time of year. It was disappointing to say the least

I play Chicopee Woods quite often and have for years. With recent upgrades and the overall shape of the course, you really can't beat it for the price. From the tee boxes to the fairways to the greens, and now with the new cart paths, everything is above Par!

Slow Pace but Great Conditions
The pace of play was super slow. I believe tee times are around 5 minutes apart which combined with players who emulate a pro golfer except for the actual score is a recipe for a 5+ hour round. I expected more from the "ranger" since the course has GPS technology. They should know which group is behind & they should have 1 shot at catching up if not, they pick up & move to the next hole.
The course is in great shape - tees & fairways are greening up nicely. The greens are a bit on the slow side in comparison to previous rounds there.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Nice course, Great staff
Nice course in Gainesville. Currently undergoing some renovations (1 working bathroom for the whole crowd). Indoor grill did not open, but they had burgers and hotdogs outside. Nice layout. Greens were in great shape. Challenging course layout. Pace of play was a little slow at 8 AM. Best part was the warm and welcoming staff!

Played Mill and Village 9s; the better 2 of the 3 available, in my opinion.
First, big kudos to the starter who informed me that I was booked with 3 slow players and he allowed me to jump out as a single...smooth sailing on the first 9 holes.
Got stuck behind 3 very slow and very poor players on the next 9, and they never even thought of asking me to play through.
The course was in very good shape, the fairways were fast, and the 1 bunker I played from was quality sand. The greens looked beautiful, rolled smoothly, but played pretty slow.
The driving range had almost no grass.
