Great day on the links

Never been to the Outer Banks here in North Carolina. Kilmarlic is a beautiful course. Well maintained with fabulous greens. Played with another single named Frank from Michigan. Being from LA I’m not used to quick rounds of golf. Today we played in a little over three hours. All the par threes were gorgeous with most of them over water. It was windy after a rain storm blew through but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. Wonderful driving range and putting green. Well worth the $90 greens fee. Will definitely come back.

Stay Away until better management

Played here a few times a year since it was first opened. Great course and layout. But....

It is horribly managed. Paid $89 for an April round more than 5 and a half hours long. The turf conditions were poor. Complained about slow pace after 4 holes. They stated they allow groups of 5. Three of our group of seven quit after 12 holes because the condition and pace. None of us will ever play it again. Several holes ahead of us was a group of 6 each hitting 3 balls off the tee and management did not care. Told us we were crazy to expect a round less than 5 hours at the beach. See photo of 6.

Great course with interesting routing and greens

Played here, Nags Head, and Currituck and this was my favorite of the 3. Best part about the course was the routing, hole design and green complexes. Fairways were pretty wide, but not much rough outside the fairway before you get into the trees. The course is in great shape in the places that matter (greens/bunkers/fairways in general). There are some weeds that keep it from 5 stars, but it was in really good shape. Would split 10 rounds between the 3 listed, 5 here 3 Nags Head 2 Currituck

Not worth the money.

The layout is beautiful and the course has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, it is very poorly maintained! The majority of the grass was dead and sparse, the fairways were riddled with weeds, and the tee boxes were the same. A few of the tee boxes were mostly dirt with very little grass at all. Overall the condition of the course was far worse than most of the small 9-hole municipal golf courses I have played. In its current condition, it is absolutely not worth the money!

First Time

First time ever in OBX. Course was not in good shape, but given the recent amount of rain and it being February I can’t complain. The staff was super friendly and helpful when I arrived. The layout was superb. Challenging for experienced golfers and fun for newer golfers. My only complaint was I had a noon tee time and there was nothing on their website or even their taverns Facebook page that the tavern was closed. I had not eaten and was so hungry that I had to leave on the 14th hole so I could eat. Just make sure to post something next time! Otherwise it is a great course.

Top rated course in Outer Banks??

Frankly, I'm unable to understand why this golf club is the highest rated golf course in Outer Banks. I didn't expect much about fairway grass because it's winter season. But, it doesn't seem to be as well maintained as other golf courses, especially considering the fact that there's a lot of debris in the bunkers. However, since the overall course layout is good, it is a course that is more anticipated when you come to other seasons other than winter.

Great Day for golf

My son and I played this course for the first time today. Course was in great shape even with rain the night before. Layout is excellent, staff couldn’t have been more friendly, they were great. Greens were top notch. We will definitely be back for another round.

Flooded

There's no doubt that when this course dries out, it is absolutely a premier course. Unfortunately, it was saturated and cart path was impassable in several places and required us to drive on a soaked fairway of which it was path only. Drainage is a major issue on several holes.

Very nice pace

Was a terrific day by myself no one in front or back. No pressure no stress very quiet.

I thank you for the wider fairways on many holes. I’ love winter golf. Thanks again

Top Marks

My son and I were joined by two members and had a great experience! Great layout with course management a necessary element to a good score. OK, I am an average player, lost a few balls yesterday still managed a 93-mainly due to the help of the members establishing where is optimum. Look forward to my next OBX trip for another round...
