Challenging Par 3
Being from out of town, I always try and squeeze in some golf when I come to North Myrtle Beach. And being that sometimes I'm short on time, I love stopping at Harbour View in Little River to play their Par 3 course.
The very narrow tree lined fairways keep this course challenging and exciting. Since I typically play in the winter, the greens are almost always covered in pine needles and a little overgrown. But for the price, I think can look past that. The tee boxes are artificial, however you can stand to the side or in front of most of them if you choose to.
There are a few holes around 150-yards but most are in the 90-110 range. You should only need about three clubs for this place as there aren't many bunkers either.
Good practice facility
Due to the pace of play i played the front 9 twice. There was a lot of rain in the couple of days before i played. The course was really wet. The greens hadn't been mowed in a few days, probably due to the rain. Most holes are too short to hit a full shot, wedge included. If you are looking for a place to really work on your (very) short game, this is the place. You will only need your pitch and put bag, so leave the rest of the sticks in the car. Good place to work on half 8 and 9 iorns, and three quarter wedge shots. If you miss the green, great place to work the 7, 8, and 9 iorn chip shots. Better described as a practice facility than a golf course.
Really nice par 3 for the price. Had some longer holes placed in there as well. Overall nice little course, to just play a quick round on vacation.
Great short game venue
Most strokes are lost from 100 yards to the green and this course will improve your game!
Don’t waste your time
Half of the greens hadn’t been cut in two days. The cups were all in terrible shape. The only green remotely in playable condition was the once right next to the club house. Not once, not twice but three times we had to wait to take a tee shot because of maintenance taking place around the greens. I could write a novel filled with negative aspects of this course. I will never be returning and wouldn’t suggest this course to anyone.
Good practice for short game
Greens and fairways in good shape! I played by myself so I was able to go at my own pace and drop another ball if I needed to. The first time I played I did not have much of a wait. The second time I played I had to wait every hole and finally go around a twosome and a foursome skipping 2 holes.
Overpriced in. my opinion. I can play 18 holes at nearby golf courses cheaper than I can play 9 holes at this par 3. I got a great rate through Golf Now but this rate is no longer offered. I won't be back for that reason.
A lot of the greens were in bad shape with bare spots. Also the course had dry parts and very wet parts.
Made a reservation on golfnow.com ,had a conformation no..Went to the course to play the manager there said all i had was a conformation no. that i havent paid yet .So i said ok and come to find out later Golfnow. com took there money and i ended up paying twice for 1 round .Trying to get a refund still working on it .
Short course good for a beginner
Greens were a bit bumpy but they said they have been working hard to improve the whole course. Short hole mostly about 100 yards. Two sets of tees, but back tees are plastic turf. Carts were in good shape. Putting green and driving range. A few holes with sand traps. Can play 18 holes in about two hours.
Poor Greens, Poor Layout, No recortd of booking
I booked this course via Golf Now and paid a booking fee, upon arrival no record of booking, when I presented confirmation I was told he had no access to confirm but played right away. I asked Golf Now to return fee and they didn't respond, Layout was not a TRUE PAR 3 as every hole was almost the exactly the same distance could not use anything other than a 9 iron or wedge. Green were so incredibly bad and the cost (only a few dollars less than a full course) was way too high for this patch of dust
Par 3 course +
Fun course, something for everybody. 18 hole par 3, driving range and miniature golf. Great for new golfers
Super putt putt
It's like a putt putt course on steroids. Great course to work on short game and 8 and 9 irons.
Nice Par 3 course
This is a nice par 3 course for a beginner and the people are great. We have played this course a number of times and it is very nice to be out on and the course is good. While I am not an avid golfer this course is perfect for me.
