Double booked
Had the 715 tee time ($20 more on Golf Now versus booking direct) Started us on 10...flew through that nine and then hit a wall on the turn. Got there and 3 groups waiting. Why book early if you are going to end up playing a 4 1/2 hour round? Ranger did squeeze us into the middle of the 3 groups...slow back for us and some not so happy golfers after we were put in front of them.
Great Greens
Enjoyed the course, challenging with really good greens for putting and receiving approach shots.
Only disappointment was the service, only saw the beverage cart on 10 and 18 and we tried to flag her down and she drove on by. Marshall also approached us about picking up the pace and shared we were waiting on the foursome in front of us, so he approached them and the pace of play picked up.
beau terrain
c est un tres beau terrain bien amenagé et qualité prix c est excellent
Make sure to play both East and West
Got a great deal on GolfNow to play 36 holes for the price of 18. Played West at 8am, stopped for lunch, played East at 1pm. Both courses have a nice layout. Staff was excellent and starter gave us good recommendations for other courses in the area.
Average Course
Greens rolled very true. Other than that, nothing memorable. The rate should cap out at $40.
Nice course
Very nice conditions for November. Pace of play in less than 4 hours. Fairways forgiving and rough a little tough. Very large greens. Nice experience.
Happy "Season"
I really enjoy playing these courses. The greens are always in great condition and fairways are also in great shape. Everyone is really nice and happy you are there. I've played here previously on the weekend and have seen rangers that ask me if I am being slowed down at all (I play as a single a lot) by players in front of me. I just played on a Monday at noon and experienced some really slow play. I waited at a par 3 for 15 mins to T off. There were 2 foursomes in front of me and they were playing at a snail's pace. I did not see a ranger anywhere. Granted it's "season" but rangers are a MUST this time of year... I'm sure if a ranger was working this wouldn't be an issue. A month ago there were no issues. I would still recommend.
my most recent round at woodlands west
The (west at woodlands) was a wonderful shape. The personnel are always quite helpful and friendly. The playing time is always quite quick and seldom are there holdups from slow foursomes etc. While I'm not at all a very good golfer, (usually shoot mid-to high 90's) I do find this course to be a perfect challenge for level of play. And for some reason weather from the blacks or whiles I always seem to hit the same score and by no stretch of the imagination am I any better than an average distance hitter. Quite enjoyable course to pay.
great
excellent
I always have good time play that coarse
Course is in great condition.
We were very lucky as there was no one in front of us so no waiting on the tee box. We let a couple of twosomes go through and still no waiting so it was nicely paced.
Woodlanss West
Excellent experience. Beautiful course, and community.
Plat rapid. Pretty busy, but no problem
lack of manners and marshall
staff was great.booked on golfnow they did not charge me for my wife to ride along. got behind a foursome on hole 6 the twosome in front of me went around them.when i got to hole 11 saw the twosome on hole 18. pulled up on every tee box while they were still hitting. never asked me to play thru and nobody in front of them.
Woodlands West - first impressions
This course is in excellent condition and play moves along well enough. A formerly private course, it provides a country club atmosphere and is welcoming to public golfers. Compared to other clubs in the area it's a superior experience for a comparable price. I'd like to play the east side next and see if there's a difference. The only course in the area that compares would be Inverrary. Overall I would give this course an "A-" The only thing that was a little bit less than ideal was the sand in some of the bunkers. For a classic south Florida golf course this one is hard to beat. Lots of old cypress trees, live oaks with Spanish Moss on them and palms as well. Overall it's nicely landscaped. By the way, the clubhouse is very impressive and the bar is comfortable and the food is good. It just needs a little more personality and options for beer on tap. (like Sam Adams or Guinness)
A great course to test you game
This course is beautifully maintained and visually appealing. The course is challenging but does reward you for staying in the short grass. The rough is "rough." There is plenty of water to test your nerves. You will probably use most of the clubs in your bag.
The course is a fair challenge.
The staff was friendly and helpful. They helped make it an enjoyable day.
nice course
good layout, nicely maintained course, relatively easy
Woodlands West
A little harder than the East course. Greens in good shape but not real fast. Lightning forced us to stop after 16
woodlands west
Course is overall very nicely laid out. Senior friendly. Water only comes into play on a few holes. Enjoyed the amenities very much. They also offer you for $9.00 more , lunch, range balls and all the golf you can play. Great deal except for the summer heat lol
Greens were pretty good for a public course
Only complaint was that there was no beverage cart. It was really hot and we all wanted cold beers. Greens were not fast, but rolled well. Rough was deep.
