Crescent Oaks Country Club
About
Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Good for practice. Needs work in a few areas.
Despite it not raining for 3 days, the course was very wet. Bunkers were mud instead of sand on nearly every hole. Lots of wet fairways and first cuts which led to plugged balls. Greens were quick but very inconsistent. Lots of tee boxes under repair. For the price paid, it's about average. With some drainage and bunker work and rolling the greens, it would be at least 4 stars.
Good course but could be way better.
This is a good course but the pace of play was a little whack. I’d recommend spacing out tee times a little more. Also it feels like every time I go to this course the range is shut down. Overall decent track though
Smallest greens (for a nicer course)
Course conditions were a little rough and tumble along the edges – greens were smooth and fast but they are indeed the smallest I have ever encountered in my 40 years of playing golf around the country. The only smaller ones were at Sandpiper in Sun City and that’s explainable because that’s a real dog track. The good news is I certainly gotta work out with my short game! With an average width of 12 to 13 yards, and if he lies even in the fairway, make for a long day.
Friendliest staff ever seen!
The course was in great shape! The staff from the people in the pro shop to rangers on the course and the girls in drink were all the nicest I have met in my 30 years of playing golf. We played 9 holes got rained out on back got a rain check came back next day without a tee time and was able to play the back! And it was totally with every penny I paid! Highly Recommend!
Great layout, great value
Overcast day, rained out after 15, but course was fantastic, no other players there, little soggy but great day. Roll the dice on a 50% rain chance day!
Only front 9 open
When we booked out tee time there was no notice that they would be punching the greens on the back nine. When we arrived they let us know that only the front 9 was open and we would have to play to twice. When we arrived at the first tee we were already 5 groups deep waiting. It took us almost three hours to play 9 holes! As a twosome! When we made the turn to play the front 9 again we were 7 groups deep waiting to tee off. Not very organized and it would have been nice to know before we arrived. Other than that the course was in decent shape.
pace
way to many singles, we play in 3-hours abd 20 to 30 minutes. but to give them courtesy we let 3 singles thru and had to wait as soon as they went by.!!!!!!!!!
