Council course ( pay and play)
Great course, good value for the money. Nice layout, some very long par 5s. Great course for the more mature players as the course has no big hills to climb. Staff were very helpful and courteous
Fantastic course
Fantastic course. Well maintained and good greens. Just wish there was a bar with it for some social life and food.
Hits the spot especially in dry weather
When the weather's dry this course takes some beating for overall value and quality compromise. Greens in great shape and are always a challenge. Tee boxes and fairways in great shape. The rough is fair and manageable. I love Allen park and IMO it puts many more expensive, snootier courses to shame.
Council run course but better than most private tracks , bunker sand it’s quality also due to being a council course it was great to play a around in normal shorts and t-shirt
Good course
Course was very wet but it was to be expected after the rains we had... otherwise it played really well... a bit disappointing that there is no pro shop or a coffee bar to grab something before or after the round.
Wet course
Course should not be open when heavy rain is forecast the day before places on the course where like a swamp. Still able to play of the fairways even though the course conditions were very wet resulting in heavy divots being left un repaired and the greens left full of pitch marks not repaired by golfers on the course. This must be very frustrating for the members of the golf course who have to play their competition after the course has been chewed up by visitors. A fabulous course ruined by the decision to open the course when the course is virtually impossible to play.
Proper par 5's
The course is kept well, although the tees could do with a little tidy up and they even have little yellow flags on the pins asking people to repair their pitch marks. These of course seem to be ignored by many, but that's not unusual to find.
For a big hitter the par five holes might not pose real issues, but for someone like me, driving 215 yards, it is a chance to use my fairway wood a few times, which I don't get to do on my own course.
The greens have lots of different colours, but the surface itself is good and there are plenty of sneaky little slopes to contend with while attempting your par or birdie putt.
This is the 4th time I have played this course and I look forward to my next visit.
Golf now
This is a good course, especially for a publicly run one, it has the feel of a private course and very unfussy. Unfortunately i can't play my round tonight as my partner pulled out last night due to unforseen circumstances and golfnow won't let me cancel as it wasn't outside the 24 hours. If you do play this course or any course it is better to book though the course itself, Allen Park will refund you if you can't make it. Don't use this app to book.
