Osprey/Heron at Okeeheelee Golf Course
About
With a name meaning 'quiet waters' in the Seminole language, Okeeheelee Golf Course is situated amidst lush, rolling hills that overlook the sparkling waters of Clear Lake. There are 27 championship holes that are divided into three nines and can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Osprey, Heron, and Eagle nines are named after the various wildlife that can be seen throughout. Each golf course offers a different set of challenges and scenery. Okeeheelee's Osprey/Heron Course features a variety of elevation changes. There are scenic views from the elevated greens but don't become too distracted since there are many elements to contend with including towering trees, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough lining the fairways. There are also plenty of water hazards coming into play.

The course good
The was in good shape except the green had been irrigated
Excellent..plyed course fur times this week
Fairways OK if you hit it straight. but water and tree/bush hazards are numerous so reasonable accuracy is critical. Very enjoyable to play.
Fun and cheap
The course was fun and cheap to play! I recommend playing this course. Only thing is it is open and not too much shade!
Memorial Day to Remeber
First off found an $11 rate for our 2some!! 1:15 Tee time...
Played Osprey to Heron- Course was in Fantastic Shape and wide open we didnt see the group in front of us on a single hole Played from Back tees some very interesting Par 5 tee shots and the final par 3 on the Heron is a great uphill slight right to left that requires a very high long draw to find the green!!!
Gonna Play a few times here this summer
Great course
Recommend playing this course play was very fast and wide open go to this course today
Okeehelee
Amazing course I loved it and the golf now price was awesome try it u will love it
great course for the price
challenging enough for the skillful and easy enough for the beginners
Good layout but poor course conditions
The 3 9-hole layouts are good and challenging to play. A lot of doglegs, water and bush hazards. You need to plan your shots very good. The environment is beautiful with plenty of wild animals on the site. However, the course conditions are not that good with Eagle being the worst. I would say both Heron and Osprey are good and acceptable but Eagle is on the poor side. With less than $20 summer rate, I would still recommend the course.
Poor service by Pro Shop workers/Starter
The pro shop workers were sarcastic and made unnecessary comments. The starter also did the same. Unneeded as it was my first time there. I did not know where to go to the 1st hole, and instead of helping me, the starter made fun of me and was of no help. The course was in good shape, and so were the facilities, but I will not return.
Nice course
One could always nitpick, but given the amount of play these courses get, they're in good shape. If you play off the back tees (we did), the last 4 holes on Heron rate with "signature holes" on other, more famous courses.
A pleasant Outing
Easy enough to navigate the separate 9 hole layout.
Greens were in average shape but for the money, it's an excellent outing.
The layout has several blind landing zones from the par four tees which makes for difficulty unless you throttle back and opt to not hit out 250+ sometimes; especially on the par 5's
Great course, fun layout
If you are looking for the typical FL course where you just grip it and rip it, this is not that place. Lots of doglegs. Some real rough, and water that though not the forced carry variety, does penalize wayward shots.
Okeeheelee review
Great course lay out, pretty difficult. Green and fairways were in pretty good condition. I would not suggest that people with a 20 plus handicap play this course. The course demands accuracy and precision. There are lots of trees, hazards, water, tight greens and tight fairways. However for more advanced players it's a great course and I will be back to play the course.
First timers will return
Played Heron/Eagle. Enjoyed very much. Will return soon to play Osprey. Enjoyed wildlife and nature reserve areas.
Ms
Fun day. Course was in good shape. Fairways were great; the greens few bumps but a challenge. The wildlife was fun- watch out for the birds sneaking in your cart to break into crackers. Rocky raccoon is nosey too.
Average
Short course unless you play from the tips. Tee boxes need some work otherwise course was ok.
very nice layouts
Beautiful environmental sight course well maintained it's a shame that it was raining
A great course
We had forgotten how much if this course is. We played Osprey/Heron and the two curses are so different. You really have to plan your shots - great value for the money and a real gem in the Palm Beach municipal system.
Interesting
Have to plan your shots. Interesting landscaping.
Would play again.
Okeeheelee
We have been playing there for 15 years and the course is in the worst shape I have ever seen! The tees are a mess! The greens were very bad!
