Osprey/Heron at Okeeheelee Golf Course
About
With a name meaning 'quiet waters' in the Seminole language, Okeeheelee Golf Course is situated amidst lush, rolling hills that overlook the sparkling waters of Clear Lake. There are 27 championship holes that are divided into three nines and can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Osprey, Heron, and Eagle nines are named after the various wildlife that can be seen throughout. Each golf course offers a different set of challenges and scenery. Okeeheelee's Osprey/Heron Course features a variety of elevation changes. There are scenic views from the elevated greens but don't become too distracted since there are many elements to contend with including towering trees, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough lining the fairways. There are also plenty of water hazards coming into play.

Great course
Course is always in good condition and the staff is friendly. Played here many times and it's one of the nicer courses in PB county.
lost a couple balls
couldnt find them when i hit them over the hill, yes hills in florida.
the grass was a little long just on the fringe, guess i will have to hit the fairway all the time.
the first starter when i started was very friendly at 11:30, then approx 1:30 the next one didnt seem to like working. cart girl was nice and came around often.
Okeeheelee
Great course, challenging and kept on great condition. Highly recommend this course
Course is well kept, tight and fun to play.
My experience is the course is very well kept and tight with a lot of challenges, all 27 holes are fun to play.
Good greens and nice layout.
We enjoyed it very much even though it was pretty saturated. The greens and layout were good enough to make up for it. Definitely worth the play.
Nice folks, great pro shop, excellent public golf!
Former LPGA tour player Donna White runs the show. Great public layouts (27 holes) and excellent conditioning. Had received a lot of rain prior to our play but for the most part course drained well. Very enjoyable layout.
This course never disappoints
I play this course often. It is wonderful! It is well maintained, more like semi-private course than a public one.
Miniture golf on the big stage
The course shows after much rain that it doesn't drain well. Should have been notified that the greens were still aerated and not in good condition. From tee to green you have more water than a marathon runner would care for. Many obstacles placed right in the middle of the fairway, it seems like they wanted to bring that miniture golf experience to the course. Many blind shots, and that wouldn't be a problem if the score card would have the course mapped out. Poor yardage markers, aside from the 150yd white stake marker in the middle of the fairway you have a hard time finding out how far you are from the green.
I can't believe they aerated the greens the week before labor day.
Course was in poor condition. Greens had just been aerated and the plugs were piled up beside the greens. It will be a long time before I play this course again.
Have played these 3 nines since 1995 and have always enjoyed it.
First-timers will fret about all of the water (yes, it's everywhere), but each hole clearly reveals exactly where you need to land the ball, so the water doesn't come into play. The water only comes into play if you put it there; otherwise ignore it; and leave that driver in the bag on those short par 4s - you can easily run out of fairway. So, forget the water, land the ball in the right spot and use the right club off the tee. You'll enjoy this course if you respect the designer. I have for many years.
interesting holes,picturesque
Great value for the money, greens coming back from aeration, good overall conditions and a lot of nice scenery,27 holes so a lot of diversity
One of the best public courses that I've ever played!
I only play 18 of 27 holes. This facility has 3, 9-hole courses. The location is a thing of beauty. The course is challenging with water everywhere, it seems. However, if you manage the course wisely, you can stay dry. I thoroughly enjoyed the 18 holes as the course was in excellent condition tee to green.
Nice layout
Challenging course with alot of hidden danger you must know your yardage.
very good condition for a county course. great scenery and layout. staff is great
played eagle and heron courses. quite a few dog legs. both courses are nice and well kept. Can't beat it for the money
pretty course
played osprey -heron - good pace in the early morning - tight and a little challenging - course management is a good way to play here - very enjoyable - good greens
Course in good shape, even after all the rain we had.
The course has 27 holes all of which are always in good condition throughout the year. Very natural setting. The 2nd hole on the Eagle course has a couple of very smart raccoons residing there. One zipped open my golf bag and stole part of my lunch. I was also told they had taken a women handbag from the cart and carried it up a tree. So,keep your valuables secured.
Fun Course to play
Course was in good shape, greens were a touch slow, but in great shape. Pace of play was great no waiting.
The 3 9 hole set-ups provide you a different 18 hole experience each time you go.
This is a nice municipal course that rarely ever closes. It is supposed to serve the public and it does a fine job. The 5 sets of tees allow you to tailor the course to the abilities of yourself or your group. The price, availability, and generally good condition of the course make it always worthy of your consideration.
nice course
The day that Iwe played too windy.(15MPH)So a little bit difficult for us.Course condition is good.Almost hale is dog leg.
