Will not return
Not worth the time or money. Needs some serious attention. So many other courses in Orlando to play that are similar prices. Will not return, don't waste your time.
A well maintained course with very friendly and helpful staff
This is my second time at Windermere, the staff are very friendly and the course is a joy to play, sadly on this visit the 10th hole was out of play because of a car exhibition which used the 10th.
I will certainly return in the near future
The Course was worth the golf.now fee
The course was in good shape and greens were slightly slow but not bad. Just outside of Disney area and easy access. Great view of homes in the upper $500k to over 1 million. Staff was very pleasant replay was $20 was great
Nice, well established track in need of some love.
I have played this course several times over they years and have watched it go from being a great track, to a bit of faded glory. The glory is still there but some (and I don't mean a lot) of TLC needs to be infused into this course or it will slip into the "dregs".
That being said, the folks are nice and the "bones" are there to turn this back into a really good course, but I believe time is of the essence.
Windemere Golf Club
Course was very well maintained. Very challenging to me because of water on 14 holes! Thankfully I brought plenty of balls. If you always hit them straight no problems. Excellent lunch afterwards!
This course is great for beginers
The course was very challenging for a player whose just starting to learn the game of golf. I thought it was great, the fairways are in very good conditions.
Good layout, relaxing atmosphere and friendly attentive staff
I live nearby but this is the first time I have ever played the course. I would definitely go back again. The layout was really interesting with some true dog legs allow for a couple of different strategies to play the holes. They had just competed the over seeding so it was cart path only the day that we played. Nevertheless, the fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were consistent and true as well.
Not the same as last year
The condition of the place was not so good as i
am usually find there. The staff also was not
so friendly as last year.
Probably it was a special problem on a special day
I will come back.
Windermere Country Club
In Florida when playing golf, a beverage cart would be quite beneficial. Ridiculous that there was no means of hydration.
Solid course around the attractions
Great layout, greens rolled true even for the speed bumps and pot holes left by players before. I would give this course 4 stars, but due to the exuberant amount of pitch marks not fixed, it does not warrant 4 stars. I will play this course again.
Great track
Lots of challenging doglegs and par 3's. Greens were tough, but fair and rolled well.
I loved the first part of the course, then the rain.
Great lay out of the course. The rain came, so I only got in seven holes. Can't wait to be able to go back and play the rest of the course.
Slow play
I like this course, but pace of play was frustrating on Sat afternoon. Maybe try a weekday if you want to check it out.
excellent course
great course if they could keep the rain off of it....so we went back another day and enjoyed the slow play ( of course it was a weekend)..Only bad flaw was that both times we had a cart run out of power.
Excellent golf course.
The golf course was in excellent condition. Tough but fair test of your golfing skills. The staff was very friendly, from pro shop to grounds crew, everyone made us feel like we were long time members of "the Club". A must play for every golfer.
Well worth a visit
This course is very like a parkland course in England and France. Challenging ,pretty, and a good test for all golfers.
However, the course had no water for sale ! and there were too many on the course. The ranger was non- existent and the pace of play was poor. It seems to me to be crazy to encourage people to eat after 9 holes, this just causes congestion on the 10th tee box. AND is unfair to those coming through in the normal manner.
Nice course
We loved the course. Unfortunately, it was a crummy drizzly day and the course got 4 inches of water the previous day so it was cart path only. It made it a bit more difficult and a lot longer than normal to play. The course was very wet and the ball didn't travel far on the ground. None the less, the course is beautiful.
Great Course
My wife and I played this course on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Course was in very good condition, seemed like it was pretty busy but other than having to wait on the 1st few tees for the group in front of us to finish out we moved at a pretty good pace. Staff was very friendly and welcomed us to the course (it was our first time playing this course). Looking forward to playing Windermere again in the very near future.
It is the little things they do and the little things they don't
My golf buddy and I found a tremendous deal to play Windermere and it was a perfect start to our respective weekends. While most Friday afternoon golf in the Orlando Area is way too cluttered, we found a much more reasonable pace of play here. Another thing that stood out was how simple it was to book online, show up, grab a cart and just go play. Some may enjoy employees all over the place at a bag drop or cart return and those sassy cart girls, but I'm not one of those golfers. There are sufficient water stations accompanied by large coolers freshly packed with ice to alleviate any complaints about lack of hydration out on the course. While the course plays long from the white tees (the equivalent of blue tees at most properties), it is a very fair test. Only once between the two of us, did a well-struck tee shot plug in the fairway and there were no restrictions on carts despite all the rain recently. Greens may have been a touch slow, but that was the only blip in a really solid overall experience at Windermere.
A good challenge for a mid to high handicap
Played by myself and followed a two ball through the front nine who were playing nice and steady. They let me through on the 10th but at the 11th i caught up with a fourball who were poor to say the least. Spent the next two and a half hours following them and it was tedious to put it politely. The course offers a good challenge and is nicely set out. Well worth a visit..just get lucky and hope the knobs in front of me aren't there to spoil your day!!
