Great course in good condition. A very enjoyable round.
I would recommend this course to anyone. Outstanding layout, good conditions, laid back atmosphere.
Beautiful
First time to Windermere, what a beautiful course. Very well maintained, good green speed. Layout is challenging without being penal
Well Maintained with large greens.
It was a beautiful day and Windermere gave us a great experience. The course is relatively straight forward but there are some interesting holes where local knowledge would have helped.
Greens were true but a tad slow, compared to what I would have expected.
Very quiet on a Sunday afternoon (12:45 tee time) and playing as a two some we were done in just over 3 hours.
Great course!
Beautiful course, staff was great. Would definitely play this course again.
Great pace of play
A good course, well worth the drive. Take a GPS
Great clubs for rentals. Friendly staff. Good greens
Nice course. Not busy when we played at 7:30 a.m.
Enjoyed the course. I would have been nice to have played it before - or with someone else who has played it before. A few holes have blind shots - so you need to know where and how far to hit it.
Last round for awhile
I was scheduled for ACL reconstruction surgery on Monday so my wife and I spent the weekend in Orlando where we went to Islands of Adventure at universal studios on Saturday, and finished the weekend with 9 holes of golf at Windemere Golf Course. The course was well maintained, and though it was better than most, as far as the condition, it was not pristene. The layout was callenging, but far from difficult, which I played from the tips. The greens were very nice with ample size and undulations to keep them interesting, though they were a bit slow for my liking. I shot even par so it was a nice way to to start my sabbatical from the game while I recover from my surgery. If I didn't live in Tampa (stationed at MacDill until September as a mobilized Navy Reservist), I would make this course a regular track! I really enjoyed it!
Always fun
Course provides a good challenge; not a nightmare. Greens were is good condition.
Course is well maintained and plays to all levels of golfers
Enjoyed the round here. Staff had a number of events going on but were cordial, friendly and accommodating.
Really great place to visit
Played a round here while visiting Disney. It's about twenty minutes away from that area....set back in between some beautiful houses. The course was in great shape. Tee boxes were good. Greens were fast, soft and well maintained. Fairways were short and pretty well grown in. The rough was short and pretty bare and sandy in some spots further off the fairway but I think that's fairly normal for Florida courses. I think the only downside of the course was that there was no gps on the cart and not much in terms of yardage markers in the fairways.... Which isn't bad if you bring your rangefinder. They would be extremely useful with the blind shot holes and tee shots over water trying to figure which distance you need to use. People in the clubhouse were nice. I will certainly play this course again when I'm in the area especially at the $23 price off GolfNow. It's a can't miss!!!
Very nice "private" like course.
Everyone including maintenance workers very friendly. Challenging course with perfect greens. Teed off at 9am and finished 18 within 3 hours. Booked another tee time.
This course has great features
beautiful facilities great course great design had a wonderful time
Great course. Very nice location.
Had a great time (actually decided to Play again the day after). Very nice course in a nice Location. Very friendly staff. Played the course in <4 hours - not waiting at all.
Ok course, expected more for the money.
This course is ok, but too expensive for the experience. Started off with no one by the bag drop. I don't mind taking my own bag out of the car, but not when I go to a course where I'm paying to expect someone to help with that. No GPS on the cart. I'm not a Pro Golfer with notes on each of these holes, nor did they offer caddies with that knowledge. GPS's are so widely available on other courses, you'd think that with the money I paid, they could afford at least a cheap GPS system. Next I was told by the starter that the pins were at position #3 on the course and I was lucky if he was right about 6 of the holes. Then, I saw the cart girl one time! It's Florida...it got hot...I got parched...I wanted to spend money. To sum up, I paid real close to $200 for my son and I to have a nice experience, and we got FAIR.
GREAT COURSE BAD SERVICE IN RESTAURANT
Played Windemere with a group of 6 (2x3) loved the course inspite that the first 7 holes were played in the rain
Very friendly people in the Pro SHop but NOT IN THE RESTAURANT
We had a waitress and inspite of that we still tipped here on a bill of 73.19 Dollars, the gratuity mentioned on the bill was 86.81 and we paid 85 Dollars, which we thougt, seen the service and additude was more than sufficuent, but to our surprise we were followed in the parking lot by the waitress demanding the additional 1 dollar 61!!!!! To avoid an argument in the parking lot we decided to pay an addtional 2 dollars BUT WE WILL NEVER VISIT THE RESTAURANT AGAIN AND SUGGEST THE MANAGEMENT TO TAKE SOME ACTION!!
Very nice course
Very good value for this course. Probably due to greens being airated.
What I saw the course was good and in fair condition
Had to play the front 9 twice as the back 9 was closed, so can't comment on the whole 18, I am sure the back 9 must be better than the front
Aeration
Front nine of this course was closed due to aeration which was NOT disclosed by Golfnow.com. Pro Shop staff was apologetic and offered free use of range prior to round. Allowed me to tee off early and play on my own which allowed me to play 2 balls and complete round in 2 1/2 hours. Wife was happy as I was home early ...lol.
Fun course
The course was not in pristine condition but it was well tended and attractive.
The sand traps were not deep in sand but the sand was clean, soft and playable (personal experience a few too many times)
The par 3 holes are challenging both in distance and layout as well as that day's pin placement.
Staff was very personable and friendly
Windermere Country Club
The course was fine. The fairways and the greens were excellent. It was well maintained.
The only complaint I have is the the lack of marking sticks or yardage. Since the carts did not have the GPS unit, it was difficult to guess the distance. Otherwise it is a very nice course.
Grande Lakes
Paid $49 each, plus range balls and lunch. You do the math. I used the caddy reference to make a point about...never mind. Too many other courses to play to have to keep being reminded of this one.
You paid $200 for two of you to play here? GolfNow has rates in the $35 range......
By the way, when you find a course here in Orlando with a caddie program, pls email me immediately.
