West Orange Country Club
About
West Orange Country Club is known throughout central Florida as the home of the West Orange Invitational, where the area's best amateur players gather to compete every November. The golf course was opened in 1967 and rebuilt in 2006 with Tifdwarf grass, providing it with some of central Florida's smoothest putting surfaces. The par-71 layout has a traditional design that features narrow, tree-lined fairways and water hazards in the form of several small ponds and a meandering creek. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course's par 4s are particularly memorable. One example is the par-4 sixth, the presence of West Orange's signature Oak tree makes this dogleg left hole even more intimidating. The golf course finishes with a risk-reward par 4 that emphasizes strategy over strength.

Country club charm
Friendly staff, range balls were included. Greens were super fast but true. Sand was a little wet and hard but course in very nice overall shape.
WOCC
We had a great round of golf! The staff is friendly. I love this course for its beautiful tree lined fairways. Feels like you are out in the country since the course is not covered with houses
Not a recommendation
Needs some TLC in grounds, sand traps etc,
We were not greeted, no bag boy, golfed by ourselves.
Found no instructions as to the course layout and distances on two holes incorrect.
West Orange Golf Course
Fairways grass condition only fair ,don' t believe they overseeded, also very narrow trees & water. Greens were quite good. Staff very friendly.
Excellent value for a course in very good condition
A quiet setting with an excellent course which is appealing to all levels of golfers and includes good practice areas. While a flatter overall course, greens are contoured to add to the appeal of this course. Certainly would recommend. Condition is very positive with this course.
Good round
Well maintained course with helpful staff. Not too challenging and great landscape
Dull - boring
One of the most lackluster courses you'll ever play. No imagination, dull layout, same 380 yd hole time and time again, more of a senior short course, and no cart girl! If you can find another course in the area play that instead. Nothing worth seeing here.
Don't waste your money!
If your want to golf in Winter Gardens, go to Stoneybrook West or Windermere Golf Course. This course was the worse golf course we have played in Florida in 30 years. Has not carts paths/directions in most areas. It was back and forth layout. It was hard to distinguish between each hole. It is a $35.00 course at the most. Women, no bathroom facilities at all on the front nine. No beverage cart. No start to let you know when to start. Best part of the day was the weather. Beat the snow we were having at home. Will never, ever play this course again. Do not let the website lead you to believe it is a course worth playing.
Nice Course
Overall a very nice course. I am from the northeast so the dormant Bermuda is a little different than I am used to looking at but overall everything was great. Greens were fast and smooth. Fairways were ok but again not used to the Bermuda. Water seemed to be on a lot of holes although it appears that it has not rained there in quite sometime. Payment is by visa only. Hope to play this course in the future.
Overpriced and understaffed
We called ahead. To confirm tee time because of fog. We were told we would be 10 min. Late teeing off because of a tournament just ahead of us. We would be first group out after tournament. We arrived to fine they had added 3 more groups to the tournament. After finding they had double booked our tee time and others we actually teed off 52 min. Late. They had no starter and when I complained to manager he said I have been in a meeting all morning and had no idea of what was happening. Course only average condition and overpriced compared it others we played for less money will not play this course again and will not recommend.
Tough greens
Fairly flat, tough greens. Interesting layout with tree trouble on some holes.
Greens were in fabulous condition
Very nice course. Greens were fast and smooth. Very few unrepaired ball marks . Very playable golf course and enjoyable. Staff were so courteous, went out of their way to ask me how I liked the course when I finished and asked me to please come back. Very nice.
Really disappointing
We were excited to play a different course in the Orlando area. The course was dry and brown. The greens were very fast, but mostly because there was very little grass on them. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I wouldn't normally expect to pay more than $20 to play this course and even with a golf now discounted rate, we payed way too much to play it.
West Orange
Great greens, extremely quick but rolled true. Every green well guarded by bunkers. Great place to play!
not my favorite
I don't like this golf course. From tee to green in bad shape. Maybe if you want to go and walk 18 holes just to get out of the house, it would be ok. Other then that - sorry, I have to be honest - don't go.
Solid Track, Easy Walk
West Orange Country Club isn't the longest or hardest course you'll play. It is a good challenge, a great course to walk, and will test your game. Generally tight with firm, slick, and sloping greens, accuracy is at a premium from tee to green.
Be careful of water short/left of the first green and don't dare go left of the pin on number 5.
Otherwise, enjoy the day and especially the walk!
"I need water"
This course is sand covered with lil bit of grass, then when take a divot you fill it with playground sand...played this course last year and it was decent now it just seems all dried up. Don't know if it's the sand or what but it seems way to dry from tee to green this year. I believe stoneybrooke west is in similar to better condition w stoneybrooke having better greens. Probably won't go back unless it's for under $30
Poor Condition
There are better options in West Orange County than West Orange CC. The conditions are pretty poor. If they put some money into the course it would be great. The layout is nice, and some of the holes are challenging. Unless you get the chance to play it in peak season, or if you get a deal for less than $20 a player, I would stay away. Stoneybrook West, Orange County National, or Windermere CC are nearby and are better options.
Short but Challenging
WOCC is a nice little track. Holes are right next to each other, which makes it a great walking course for majority of the course. Shorter course but forces players to be able to shape the ball various ways and involves more course management as opposed to bombing balls out into the fairways. The only con I had when I played was the number of players they let play in a group and the pace of play could be better. But overall I will play here again.
West Orange CC
Nice course, the day we played they had the moonlight tour there, didn't cause us any delays though.
Got a good deal at golfnow for 24 $ which was well spent money.
