West Orange Country Club

About
West Orange Country Club is known throughout central Florida as the home of the West Orange Invitational, where the area's best amateur players gather to compete every November. The golf course was opened in 1967 and rebuilt in 2006 with Tifdwarf grass, providing it with some of central Florida's smoothest putting surfaces. The par-71 layout has a traditional design that features narrow, tree-lined fairways and water hazards in the form of several small ponds and a meandering creek. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course's par 4s are particularly memorable. One example is the par-4 sixth, the presence of West Orange's signature Oak tree makes this dogleg left hole even more intimidating. The golf course finishes with a risk-reward par 4 that emphasizes strategy over strength.

Similar to Lake Wales CC, Daytona Beach GC, & Golf Hammock CC.
12:30 Tee time. Great Deal Caddy price. Old School Florida tree lined course. Houses on left perimeter 1st couple of holes only. Very pristine course. Not a weed visible. Tee boxes & fairways plush. Greens are what make this course spectacular: large, elevated, & very fast. Nothing spectacular about the rest of course but had fun. Several holes without cart path near greens, making it somewhat difficult to find next hole @ times. Walking allowed by course. Bathrooms on course were well maintained. Battery powered Club Car carts in great shape, had windshield & rain cover in back. Nice Pro Shop.
beautiful course
These are the nicest greens I've played. The fairways where in really good condition. The bunkers where nice, all though I would have preferred less of them.
Ole School
This is an ole school course nothing tricky. Nice tree line setup so just hit the ball straight, if not you may find yourself taking an extra stroke. The green were fast with a true roll, it took me a few holes to get the speed right. Some of the houses are pretty close to the fairway on the left side on the front nine, a little water hazard comes into play but moderate. I enjoyed the course and will return again.
Great C.C. Feel.
Good condition, Great Golf Now price and pace of play was very good. I played alone and this was my first time on this course. I found more than my share of the bunkers, thankfully they are well taken care of. This was a one hour drive to get to and another C.F. Course I can cross off my list. Best 2.50 hot dog at the turn you can find anywhere.
overall good value
Pleasant greeting upon the arrival at the pro shop. Not crowded and a good pace of play . good value for the money.
looooooved it.
Checked the maintained box but this place is a little above. loved every aspect of my round in fact I shoot a pretty good round. Fairway and greens are good shape.
Very fast greens
Enjoyed the course. The greens were were fast and challenging. Overall great value.
Greens Like Concrete - Plain Jane Course
I was excited to play west orange but when I arrived my expectations were quickly lowered. Practice Range was in bad condition for a Florida Golf Course. Greens were like concrete ..felt like they were about 12's - 13's but did roll fairly true . Greens would not receive fairway shots from 140+....Course is straight forward for the most part with a few dog legs. Tree lined fairways but had no charecter. Nothing Scenic about this place at all..Very disappointed after playing. Never Would go back.
ok course
Played here as a single golfer and got round in less than 3 hours having got through a couple of groups. Course is OK, tree lined fairways, good condition greens, but no real stand out holes. If you can get a deal on golf now I would recommend giving it a try.
Nice layout, a little tight.
Enjoyed the days, greens very very true and quick. No problem getting out but followed mini tour event and not told about that. They were very deliberate on the greens.
Conditions were good and staff friendly. Will play here again next trip. My wife (22 handicap) really enjoyed the course.
Good chalenge narrow Green fast but dont réceptive
Good after noon of golf mustang hâve a stater be cause anybody CAN présent and start
Great greens and plenty of tree lined fairways.
We really enjoyed the course and the greens. It was good value through Golf Now. There were friendly staff in both the shop and the bar. Thank you to Patrick who is going the extra mile and returning my camera to the UK which I must have left in the cart.
Great tree lined course and superb greens
The coures was in very good shape and has a nice layout, the greens were in superb condition and run very true. would play it again.
A nice course
This is a worthwhile course to play. It has a fun mix of holes and the course conditions are good.
Fast Greens
This course was well maintained and had very nice fast greens.
First time playing here and I'll definitely be back to play here again.
Great course and valaue.
Well maintained course, some boggy areas on the side, but it is Hurricane season and it rained the last 3 days.
FAST GREENS
If you enjoy putting then this course is for you. Although the greens have been recently aerated, they provide a challenge. The fairways were nicely maintained. Some previous reviews have commented unfavorably on the lack of cart paths, we just followed the natural layout of the course and had no difficulty finding the next hole. The course is wet in areas, but this did not detract from a very enjoyable round on a great course.
This course was a pleasant experience.
Nice, challenging course. Well kept, and fast greens. Would recommend to all my friends.
Good Course
Played on Sept. 15 and the greens were coming in nicely. They were rolling about a 8-9.
Not really a deal
Paid $30 per person on Golfnow because I thought I was getting a deal on a round and range balls. Get to the course and look at the prices and it is $25 for a round and range balls are provided on the range. Nobody to load and unload you bags or clean your clubs. Loading/unloading your cart is strictly self-service.
No cart path makes holes confusing to navigate, and pretty much every hole is straight and unchallenging.
Go play Orange County National instead and treat yourself to a phenomenal course. I was rather disappointed in WOCC.
