About
West Orange Country Club is known throughout central Florida as the home of the West Orange Invitational, where the area's best amateur players gather to compete every November. The golf course was opened in 1967 and rebuilt in 2006 with Tifdwarf grass, providing it with some of central Florida's smoothest putting surfaces. The par-71 layout has a traditional design that features narrow, tree-lined fairways and water hazards in the form of several small ponds and a meandering creek. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course's par 4s are particularly memorable. One example is the par-4 sixth, the presence of West Orange's signature Oak tree makes this dogleg left hole even more intimidating. The golf course finishes with a risk-reward par 4 that emphasizes strategy over strength.

Very good greens, good course
Actually either 3 ½ stars… Although not too long from the back tees it is definitely worth to go out there and play it. Pleasant pace of play. Tee boxes not always even. Fairways hard and rolling, but not very wide and mostly surrounded by high trees or water....Some holes are pretty narrow and need well placed shots. Greens are very good, fast and true. Bunkers well maintained, No staff at the bag drop and cart return, but staff at the Pro Shop and restaurant was very friendly. Overall a well playable course one should not miss in Orlando.

The guys in the pro shop were extra friendly. Got me out quick and was able to get in a smooth 18. Now that they have joined GolfNow, they need to get a replay rate.
The last time I checked, the longer you keep a golfer at the course, the more money they spend.
If you like straight holes, you'll be served!
I didn't like the layout of this course. Just too many straight holes with tall trees aligned on both sides of the fairways. The 1st dogleg is on 16th and the last is on 18th! Everything else is straight forward.
The teeboxes on at least 3 holes are tucked too close behind/besides the preceeding green, which can be dangerous/disturbing while you are waiting/driving. Some directions for the carts would be appreciated when approaching the greens, especially when there is a teebox just behind.
Greens were rolling ok.
Pace of play felt slow-we waited on every, every, every single shot- but given that we were in carts and left the 18th green after 4 hours of play, what can I say...

Very nice club with the member feel. The course was not busy, and very quiet and cordial. The course is relatively flat, but if you do not hit your ball straight, the mature trees come in to play on every hole. Greens were nice and fast, and the overall maintenance of the course was well kept.
Greens are fast and difficult to read, but nice, flat & open course
Most of these greens will really test you. West O is taken care of properly, well manicured and it shows. almost every green was moving very fast..like putting on concrete at times.. course has some tight fairways, certainly not an easy round for me when i play here. Back9 provides challenges until the last stroke..Drive it straight! It is an enjoyable course & it's basically in my neighborhood

Hidden Gem
Course was playing great. Finished 18 in 3.5 hours.
What you expect for what we paid.
Course waas laid out nicely but we found the greens quite quick and firm for the amount of undulation on them. Otherwise, was fun to play.
Never again
The course was not in good shape and the greens were top dressed which made the course even worse. Very dry conditions have left the fair ways very difficult to play off, good thing was the course is relatively easy. Not worth the money we spent to play even at a reduced rate.
A real gem!
Can't fault this place, a real test off the tips with plenty to think about throughout the round.
Friendly pro shop staff and the pace of play is just right.

The greens were too up and down for my caliber of golf. I would not go back.

Staff was very friendly. Overall course conditions were excellent. Very much enjoyed playing, and look forward to playing again.

tricky greens beautiful mature course– glad we played
Great set up with good driving range, chipping area and putting green. The carts were in good condition appearing new. No delays and beautiful open, picturesque course with very tricky greens that robbed me of points. Enjoyable for all handicap players - private course if you get a chance do play it is worth it.

Interesting Florida Course
The staff really makes this course memorable. They are cheerful and very attentive. The course is fun to play and walkable. This also means that the tract is relatively flat. There is enough water and sand to keep things interesting. The layout of each hole is distinct which allows the use of all clubs.

I would graded with 5 stars but greens were sanded. But in few days I'll return and I'm sure it will get 5 stars. Great course.
