Winter Park Pines Golf Club has offered one of the most affordable rounds in the greater Orlando area since first opening in 1968. The course has a traditional design that is ideal for beginners though it's also great if you're looking for a quick, casual round. The par-70 golf course may seem odd with a par-34 front nine and a par-36 back nine, but the layout manages to blend together seamlessly. The golf course has short par 4s and par 3s of varying lengths. There is one par 5 that measures 462 yards. The first half of the course is especially scenic with mature trees framing most of the holes. In addition to the golf course, Winter Park Pines also has a practice facility available. It features a driving range as well as putting and chipping greens with a bunker.

Needs Rangers

The course is not in good shape. Not that I’m a great golfer but this place has so many beginners that are unaware of golf etiquette. Group in front of us were cllurless in leaving their cart parked in the middle of the fairway 30 feet in front of the green, while they were putting out! Carts keep turning you off when you’re in the fairway! Pace of play was terrible, no rangers to force slow groups to speed up play! All the greens were damaged !

Great Round of Golf

The staff here were great and course conditions better than expected after the cold winter in Florida. The pace pf play was good and golfers were very friendly. We had difficulty with travel and staff were able to accomodate us , somthing that doesn't always happen. Overall a great day. We plan to go back for another round.

Not worth the money.

I used to play here often before the city bought the course. It used to be a $25 course. They raised the prices. I paid $55 and the conditions were just as bad as before. Most of the greens are burnt out and mostly green sand. NOT GRASS!! Beyond frustrating. No value for paying more than double what the course used to cost.

Maybe Some Other Time

I’m going to guess it was due to a not so distant killer frost but the greens are just atrocious.

Back nine has good layout. Staff were friendly. Nice little restaurant.

Horrid Greens

Barely any grass on the greens. They're either dried out or burnt out. Lots of fertilizer and sand. Tee boxes were subpar. Fairways were ok.

$60 for snowbird season is decent but now you know why.

Leave this course for the beginners

Highly disappointed with this course. While the staff is friendly, and the golf carts are new with GPS, the conditions are terrible. The greens were scorched and a thick layer of sand and fertilizer was poured on every green. Zero grip on approach shots. Balls rolled off the green all day. It seems the golf course is spending more money on cart paths and trees then they are on actual conditions of the course. There’s also like six identical par threes in a row (some rebranded as par 4’s). Paying anything over $25 for this course is a crime.

. Course Review

I liked playing the course. Several greens were in bad shape. construction was being done on another hole and they had to make a temporary green in the fairway. I imagine that may be some of the reason that their prices weren’t as high as lots of other courses.

Pines needs help

I had heard there were big improvements and feedback was good. I was disappointed to find course conditions so poor. Tee boxes very chewed up and greens were close to unplayable. I would say the majority were covered in green sand and batched areas. No consistent roll. Maybe the cold weather in February damaged them?? Fairways were full of mixed grasses making for awkward lies. Regardless, I hope they get grounds help because it could be really fun. Right now, not so much.

Terrible greens

Most municipal courses I play back home are in great shape. This place is what we call back home a Goat Ranch. There is definitely something wrong with these greens

Great Staff and Convenient, but Conditions and Pace of Play Lacking Today

I live nearby so this is a convenient course and a friendly layout. Unfortunately, the condition of the course is as bad as I can recall it - patchy fairways, greens with lots of fertilizer still on top, The only ranger I saw was well after lunch at the end of our round, at the pro shop/cart area. As a threesome, we constantly waited for the foursome ahead of us, which usually had a hole open in front of them. A little pace of play enforcement, and encouraging slower groups to let less deliberative groups play through when possible would go a long way.
