David L. Baker Memorial Golf
About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

Fun course for the price.
Average speed of play for a weekend.
This is a fun little course that offers the average player a good chance at putting a few pars on the score card.
great course for the money
Played twilight at 5:22 pm for 15 bucks which included a cart. A little slow but still fun
My wife loves the short women's tees. Gives her a chance to match my score.
Not your typical executive course. There are enough traps, water, and undulating greens to make it quite challenging. It does play shorter and is thus a great venue for seniors.
The course has few challenging holes.
The course is good and for short gamer ,this is the place.the view was not bad at all and the staff was great.
good bang for your buck
the course was in good shape. Greens are slow and bumpy, but roll on line....when putting, don't give the Greens that much credit. David L Baker is one of my favorite executive courses around. decent pace of play for a par 62.
wide open level course
players and staff very friendly /accually play was fast finished in 2 1/2 hours.nice fairways and approaches .. will play this course again ...
This course is fun and great for beginners
My friends and I really enjoy this course we are below average golfers and this course is fun, we seem to be able to get tee times easy. The cost to play with cart is reasonable. Course seems to be in pretty good shape, workers seam friendly and most of the time the people who play at David L. Are friendly as well.
Great course for the Money
Nice PAR 62... Great for a quick round. Had all of the essentials.
Gives me my mojo back...
after a long time away from golf (a few weeks to a month or so), and before I play with my friends.... I get my confidence back at David L. Baker. Comfortable, fun, and feel good with a low score afterwards!
Offers some challenging tee shots and narrow fairways.
Overall we enjoyed our first time playing but it was a long back 9.
Good short game practice
Some challenging holes. Greens are in decent shape & course condition if good overall. Ducks abound/holes are close to one another. A few holes were backed up/a lot of people were getting their afternoon golf rounds in.
This course is great if you are limited for time.
Great course for the value. Definately get some inexperienced golfers that slow play down a little but this is well worth the price. I love this course since the staff are friendly, it is well maintained, and it works great for getting 18 hoies done in around 3.0 hours.
Only downside was that the greens just got plugged.
Pace was great, the greens looked good overall - but they were plugged two days ago so there was a lot of sand still. The fairways were really nice, and the yardages were easy to find on sprinkler heads. It was playing shorter than normal with the blue tees pushed up about to where the white tees would be.
We will be back here.
Love this place. First time playing here with a foursome. Started on time and finished at a good pace. Greens are in great shape. People fix their marks here.
good course condition but too shory
good condition and great course to practice short games. however, if you are around 80's handicap, it's way too easy & not worth of money.
This is a nice short course.
If you like a lot of par 3's, this is a great course for you. I liked the course and it has several holes where water comes into play. I would play again.
Great Deal on a Easy Course
For the price with a cart, you can't beat it! Great Deal!
The course conditions are always good.
A great course to work on your short game. Course & greens are always in good condition. Facilities are top notch. Green fees that are very reasonable, you wont be disappointed. I have no problem with the extra driving time from home.
An executive course that gets a lot of play . Good deal but slow play.
I enjoyed the course for the price . There are a lot of beginning and senior golfers so the pace can be slow. The course does have undulating greens and the water does come into play. Overall I enjoy playing here once a week for the price but be aware of the slow pace.
Great course for mid level player.
The course is fun and usually in very good condition. The drawback is play is very slow. This executive course has many par 4's to offer and some par 3's with distance but the course has many new comers to the game resulting ins slow play. So, bring patience and enjoy the game.
