Micke Grove Golf Links
About
Located in the Central Valley, Micke Grove Golf Links is surrounded by scenic vineyards. The course is mostly flat and measures to a reasonable 6,565 yards from the back tees, but it is not to be underestimated. There are some tough holes including the par-5 fifth, which requires an accurate tee shot in order to avoid the hazards on both the left and right. There are challenges in store for more advanced players but it is a fairly straightforward layout that is not too intimidating for beginners. The large greens can sometimes be tricky. Eight lakes also come into play throughout the golf course and there are more than 40 bunkers strategically placed along the greens and fairways. The signature hole is the par-3 14th. This 179-yarder calls for a tricky carry over water.

Over Booked
I have played this course many times and every time they are way over booked. If they would not worry about trying to get every last penny and started people every 15min to 20min instead of no spacing and go when ready this course would be really nice and play a lot faster.
Greens were really good
Overall the course was ok. long wait on the back nine. Feel it was only worth the $22.00 that each spent on the course. I don't think we will go back anytime soon
Slow play, course seriously needs a marshall to patrol slow play!
SLOW PLAY! Greens bumpy, poor bunkers, needs attention. Muni with too much traffic.
friendly staff, fun course
Vary friendly staff, nice facility to warm up and tune up before heading out. Course was in vary good condition. Hats off !
Slow, etc.
Took us almost 6 hours to finish 18 holes.
Also I am not very happy that they charged spectator fee arbitrarily. My wife came along so we were asked to pay a $15 fee. I was in a 4-some group and one of the single players rode with his wife too but they did not pay any extra fee.
After finished play, I asked the front desk why the different treatment. He said the guy who charged me had already left. No apology, no explanation and of course, no refund.
If it's busy there's going to be problems
Really a nice layout with mostly easy and a few tough holes. We got a "Hot deal" with a 1:14 T time and were able to get started at the time of arrival @ 12:55. The front 9 was busy but I thought spaced well enough between groups. Our 2some was cordially allowed to play through a 4 some on the 3rd and didn't have a wait until the 7th but this was expected since 4somes are the norm. The problem came on the turn. We grabbed a cold drink and used the facilities but when we arrived on the 10th we noticed a 3some on the fairway in front of us instead of the 4some. Then, we had a 2some hop over to our 10th faIirway in front of us from the adjacent fairway, (I think the 7th), before we teed off. We caught up on the 11th and they claim they WERE TOLD it was OK to jump over if it was open since they were behind a 5some! We asked what made them think it was open and then the sparks started to fly. I DOUBTED management authorized this but we should have been formally linked at the 10th if this was the case. We had to play with these guys or forfit the back 9 since it was stacked up 2 groups deep. The unfamiliar 3some mentioned earlier paid for 9 & started on the 10th as per management! Overall, I guess it's a business and they want to get as many paying customers started as possible but it ruined our experience.
lot a water, shots in short grass needed to go low
to bad starter didn't tell us they switched front nine and made it back nine,we played nine holes, after that a little confusion when we pulled up to what we thought was ten, greens ok, lot of brown in fairways, not like micke grove, it's a fun course to play
Course lacks play management
The course was in its usual good shape but the pace of play was terrible. It took over five and a half hours because there were no player assistance keeping the pace of play moving. We saw at least two fivesomes and this was midday on a Saturday. One of them was three holes behind the group in front of them and it was obvious they did not have a clue. Other people were just riding around in carts with no clubs looking for thier friends. We play this course regularly, but not going forward. The course sent an email about a pledge for ready play and this is how the control it?
Happy Golfer!
Greens were sanded but alright. Par 3s were a good challenging from the Blue Tees.
Could have had GPS in carts.
This course is in better shape from when I played it last time. Enjoyed it much better even though the greens were very sandy.
Will have play it again soon.
Too many 5-somes!
The course is challeging at times, but the biggest challenge are the multiple 5-somes that are allowed to play. They are constantly letting 5 and 6 play together which log jams everyone. The course will also let groups jump in front of you at the turn. A major problem when play is already slowed from the 5-somes.
Great fun plenty of hazards
Plenty of hazards, ball placement is fairly critical on some holes not so much on others.
Fun course
Good value for the money. I have played here a few times. It helps to know where to hit it and what to avoid. I
Great value with replay for only $5
This is great course...challenging but not to difficult. Good condition from tee to green.
A good time
I am a scratch golfer, but my friends are not. The course isn't the longest, but does demand good shots. There is enough wind and water to keep your attention. There are a few holes that will punish poorly struck shots. My friends shot bogey golf while I was five under. We all enjoyed the day.
The only negative come from the first and 18th fairways, which are split by the driving range. It can be a little dangerous at times.
Micke Grove review
Labor day in central valley... with rain showers. However, course in good condition, some slow play, greens a little slow but smooth and well maintained.
Nice new challenge
Played this course for the first time and it is both enjoyable and challenging! Pace of play was quite good. Only critique is it was a hot aday and there was no water out on the course so bring your own!
Nice Valley Course!
Having never played here, I didn't really expect much. I just assumed it would be another "boring" flat valley course. After playing I was very pleasantly surprised! Although it's very dried out in spots and a bit soggy in a few others and the tee areas could be leveled, I found the course interesting, challenging, but still very playable by an average player like me who doesn't hit the ball all that far. I enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back. The only problem we had was a very slow 2-some ahead of us so we were waiting on every hole. That was just bad luck I can't really fault the course for that.
Some dry spots but it is the middle of summer.
We found it confusing in some areas to locate the next hole. They should put in some more signage to designate which way to the next tee box.
