Micke Grove Golf Links
About
Located in the Central Valley, Micke Grove Golf Links is surrounded by scenic vineyards. The course is mostly flat and measures to a reasonable 6,565 yards from the back tees, but it is not to be underestimated. There are some tough holes including the par-5 fifth, which requires an accurate tee shot in order to avoid the hazards on both the left and right. There are challenges in store for more advanced players but it is a fairly straightforward layout that is not too intimidating for beginners. The large greens can sometimes be tricky. Eight lakes also come into play throughout the golf course and there are more than 40 bunkers strategically placed along the greens and fairways. The signature hole is the par-3 14th. This 179-yarder calls for a tricky carry over water.

Slower & Scappier than Usual
Normally can get around in about 41/4 hrs...much slower Saturday. Several fairways very brown and thin. Greens, however, in very good shape.
had a great time
We had not played this course in years. The trees have matured and the course looked great. It was challenging, yet fair. Would definitely come back againl.
Great course, questionable starting procedures.
The course was great. But the starter's arrangement of the golfers was questionable. Booked the "hot price" for a 3-some. The course added a single to our group, making a 4-some, which normally would have been no problem. But there was a single in front of our group, and a single behind our group. I assume the fourth was added to our group because he received the "hot price" too. But having a 4-some on the course between two singles was awkward at best. Of course we allowed the single behind to go through, and the 2-some behind him to go through as well. But it certainly would have made play progress more smoothly if the starter would have grouped the golfers more evenly.
Wine Country!
The course is always fun and challenging with lots of sand traps and water hazards! The pace of play can be at times very slow because so many people are wanting to play this course. The value makes it very attractive!
Sweet course, awesome deals!
This course Is very clean and well maintained. I see this course as one of the high end courses I play on. They have awesome deals on the app. Golfnow. I played 18 holes w/ cart for $17 dollars. I love grabbing a few beers too. Staff is great and this place is very clean. Keep up the good work micke!!
Overall, a really nice day of golf
The staff was very friendly and professional, the pace of play was very good as were the conditions on the course. All in all the way you want to have your day of golf go.
Desk attendant customer service skills are poor
Desk attendant rude and unwilling to accomodate our group, I probably won't go back to this course.
Enjoyed the couses. A long drive for us but I think we will play it a couple of times a year.
Nice place easy to find. We played in just over 4 hrs. Lots of water. Bring extra balls
I Love this course.
I really love this course, the staff are always friendly and nice. They always make you feel welcome. The only draw back is it takes so long to get a round in. It takes at least 4 1/2 hours to complete the course. The price is great, just wished is wasn't so slow.
Nice, challenging course; way too noisy though
Micke Grove is a challenging, well-maintained course. Most of the holes have fairway bunkers or water in play with a driver, making accuracy a must. The greens are undulating which places a premium on putting. The price of $25 which included a cart is great.
The one caveat is about 4 or 5 trains passed by on tracks that are next to the course. Additionally there is Micke Grove park on the other side of the course and there was a loud DJ'd party going on the duration of our round. There was not a single moment of tranquility the entire round.
This is a shame for such a pretty, challenging course. For the price it is a good deal though, and I suspect the parties will be less likely on a weekday.
good course to play early
course was in good shape. greens were very receptive good speed for ball role. definitly over booked went off the back nine first played nine holes in one hour and forty five minutes walking played front nine in three hours and twenty five minutes waited on every tee at least three groups deep sometimes more not very much fun
Great, fun layout and excellent condition/greens.
Recommendations for improvement: Not enough drinking water for a valley course. Should have every 3 holes. Only 4 water stops. Too few garbage cans, should be on every hole. Started 45 minutes late, due to heavy Father's Day weekend...still that is unacceptable.
Dissatisfied
At one point I have played Micke Grove a lot would have considered it my home course as i and my family are long time residents of Lodi recently went and played Saturday and was so frustrated teed off at 115 did not get done until 6:30 way over book course was mushy over grown not well manicured service at front desk was terrible then stopped at the turn to get my dog as always and little sodas no more large sodas condiments were sparse and charged me extra for fried chips that used to come with the dog needless to say was a horrible experience! Not at all what it used to be! So I thought we'll maybe it was just Saturday so I go the very next day with my son future golfer bring my wife to ride along and spectate first was told someone would have to walk cause they weren't going to give me extra cart then they decide to give me cart after I complain but they charge me $24 just for cart! Then as we play there are beer bottles laying all around the trash cans from the day before I know cause I played there the previous day! Cigarette butts broken tees and not mention dry patches or mushy patches oh and did I mention this time teed off at 12 got done at 6 very dissatisfied I own a local business and would be embarrassed if my team keep my business in this manner so to conclude been playing there for 13 years I don't know if ill be back I don't know if you care but I would like to think so! This is how it starts reminded me of Forrest lake! Thanks Dan

Lots of moguls, wind, water and sand, few trees, like a links course. Fairways & greens in good shape. People friendly. Recommended.

nice course, good layout..
will play again. greens and fairways in good condition. 6000 yards from whites was long enough.
the course is good . customer service and what we paid for through golf now was not.... AT ALL
I signed up for an afternoon tee time, single with cart for $20. good price. Upon arrival, I did expect to probably get paired up with someone else, but the cust. serv. rep told me that I had to "ride" with the man in front of me in HIS cart. I was taken aback, and went with it, until I got outside and realized, that wasnt what I paid for. I went back and argued the point, long story short, they said that they will not honor that deal next time, and he did me a favor. Will not buy this option again.
A links style course with ample water and bunkers
I played from the tips in a 25-30 mph wind which made approach shots into the green interesting. The fairways were in good shape; however, several of the greens were a little patchy with some kind of foreign grass clumps interspersed throughout. The greens did roll true, but I kept reading more break than existed. Course knowledge would really have helped score lower. I hit several shots that I thought were really good only to find, after walking over a small mound, the ball in the water because of water extending well into the fairway. I will play the course again and definitely play it differently. I hope there is less wind next time, too. I have two suggestions. First, there definitely needs to be more water to drink on the course. Second, they need to stock Arnold Palmers.
very nice course compared to many sacramento area courses
the course was in great shape....in comparison to many other course in the sacramento area. course of play was excellent.
Friendly staff and a very nice course
My father in law and I played this course for the 1st time over this past weekend. We have played most of the courses around the Sacramento area and really enjoyed this course. The staff were very nice, the other players were right on pace so most holes there was no wait time. The drinks and food cart passed by us at least 4 times throughout the 18 holes which was very nice. We were surprised with how nice the course was kept and how enjoyable it was having so much water around. We almost didn't play this course because the website didn't do the course justice. Hole number 5 was my favorite...especially since I gained on my Father in Law because of all of his shots in the water! Again, we really enjoyed the course and look forward to playing it again.
IT IS A GREAT GOLF COURSE
