About
Buenaventura Golf Course originally opened in 1932 as a nine-hole course but closed in 2004 for major renovations. The course's original designer, William Bell, was consulted for the redesign. It was transformed into a more challenging course, but the 1930s design features were carefully preserved. The parkland layout may seem short at just over 6,000 yards but like many of the courses from that era, length is not as important as strategy and course management. The strategically placed bunkers have classic shapes that blend seamlessly into the natural environment as though they were carved by the river. The bunkers combined with the fast, sloping greens make the golf course a shot-maker's paradise. One of Buenaventura's most memorable holes is the par-4 13th. It is one of Bell's original designs, an interesting risk-reward opportunity with water along the right.

Fun course, only downfall is they dont have a range.
Fun course, only downfall is they dont have a range.
Okay Course
The course is decently maintained and the staff are fine. The pace of play is a little chaotic because there were groups jumping back on the course and people walking too so it was a little choppy.
fun greens
fairways poorly maintained-divots everywhere
31 dollars is all its worth not the regular rate of 64 on the weekend
river ridge for 64 around the corner better value for the same price
Nice course!!!
Played Buenaventura for the first time in about 2 years. Course was in very good condition. Will definitely play again soon.
Very short, some nice holes.
A short course which at the full rate would definitely not be worth the money. Fun at the Golf Now rate and worth an afternoon.
Nice Wide Fairways.
Nice place to spend a the morning or afternoon. Mud Hen droppings
on a few of the greens. No Driving Range. There is a range down the street a few miles if you need the warm up.
This course has everything!
Great course with some challenging holes. Everyone we played with were very nice. The staff was very nice a helpfull. Recomend this course to anyone!
Good course but somewhat short
I got here early and as there was no one on the tee I was allowed to go off as a single. I quickly ran into a group of elderly golfers that let me play through on the 8th tee. I played in less than 3 hours. If you are a decent golfer, you should make sure to play the back tees as this is a short course. Nicely maintained for this time of year.
easy and reasonably priced
Winter conditions with very little fairway grass. Greens not in terrible shape. still it was golf and a nice over all day.
Great little track
Played on new years day. Good course, conditions were good. Cold day in Ventura, short course but has 3 par 5's that are reachable with 2 decent shots. flat and fairways are forgiving but not too forgiving. greens are small but are fun to putt on because of the undulations. shot 85, not too bad for a cold day. Pace of play was great. Tee time was at 11:30. We got there at 10:30 and they let us out early. will be back again
AWFULLY WET DUE TO RAIN PAST FEW DAYS....
Soggy in many places due to rain ....but will be in great shape after it dries out.
$4 FOR DOMESTIC BEER IS RIDICULOUS...... ! So compared to other golf courses, ......why?
$6.95 for a hot dog..... with bag of chips....COME ON MAN!!
