Best bang for your buck
Grass is looking really good. Pace of play was rough though.
Course conditions below expectations
I had low expectations going i to this round but the condition of the fairways was below even my low expectations. Greens were being aerated but no one bothered to tell us when we went out. Generally poor conditions but doable.
Slow play yesterday limited us to 9 holes instead of 18. It was very windy which might have impacted their pace. I tried unsuccessfully to get a a rain check for back 9 as I paid for 18. Greens were ok and fairways were fair.
Huge improvement underway
The incredible work of one groundskeeper has started to pay off and the course is being brought back to its former glory.
I just hope the management keeps investing in this guys work, he’s working miracles with what he started with 6 months ago!
Poor course
The course overall was dry and the fairways were not very green. The greens also had several different kinds of grass making putting rather unique. The pace was horrible, there was a group of 6 half in carts half not, then a group of two, all holding up my group of three, then a group of two behind us, pushing us while we are waiting to tee off. Then even told us, you can tee off now, while the group of two was still in the fairway.
It’s gone down hill
I have played this course many times over the last 10 years. It had always been a “decent” 9 hole course that is friendly for all skill levels.
It now is no better than a cow pasture. Horrible tee boxes, dead grass fairways riddled with squirrel and gopher holes.
It is a historic course that I would hate to see go under but in it’s current condition I will not be returning.
Value
Great practice facility. Short 9 hole course is easily finished in under 2 hours.
