Olivas Links Golf Course

About
Situated along the Ventura Harbor overlooking the Santa Clara River, Olivas Links (formerly known as Olivas Park Golf Course) enjoys coastal breezes that make it cool in the summer and warm in the winter, providing perfect conditions for golf year-round. The golf course has a links-style layout that closely follows the natural swales and curves of the landscape and separated by bands of fescue and wild grasses. The course is mostly open but there are some large pine trees scattered throughout. Its seaside location subjects the golf course to strong winds, especially on the front nine. The challenging layout offers multi-tiered greens and contoured mounding along the fairways. There are also deep bunkers strategically placed throughout Olivas Links, but the openness of the course places a stronger emphasis on hitting the right spot on the fairway or getting the correct angle of approach to the green rather than avoiding the bunkers.

Overbooked
The course was in great shape. The fairways were outstanding. The greens were rolling true. We had one issue that day and it was because they overbooked the course. It took 25 minutes each for the first three holes. So 75 minutes into our round we are walking to hole number four. The guys in the clubhouse at Olivas said golf now double booked our tee time. I don’t know, whatever the case was but fortunately the front nine ended up taking three hours and then on the back nine and sped up and only took 2 1/2. I just wish they had better golf course management. Whether they’re using GolfNow teetimes or booking their own it’s still there responsibility to control how many golfers go out.
A must play !!
This course is always in great condition but right now it’s in pristine condition. Staff is also friendly and helpful.
Private club conditions
This course is always in amazing condition . Staff is always very friendly.
fun day at course
course in great shape staff always friendly and helpful
A great links style course
Always enjoy playing this course. The layout has some challenges and it can get windy being less than a mile from the shore but I enjoy playing here. Recommend an earlier tee time as the carts tend to die towards the end of the day and it gets cold. Would give this a 5 star if it had bathrooms and a place for food.
Junk carts/slow play/bad tee times
once again your carts stink, torn seats bad batteries bald tires if you are looking for a cart to use for junk you will find about 100 of them at Olivas, We were 20 miniutes late getting off from the 1st tee. It took us 5+ hours to play 18 holes sad your mens club is so slow that makes us suffer in the afternoon,
Nice course 8 out of 10
True fast greens, above average fairways. Pace of play not that great. However I really enjoyed my round.
Not quite in shape yet
Dude in the shop said it’s in great shape so I got excited. Turns out it wasn’t. Not quite. Practice greens are better than the course! Front 9 greens still showed recovering punch marks, they still looked like small ball marks that had bits of sand in them still. Back 9 they had cross-cut vert-cut them so there was a grid pattern to all of them. Very strange.
The bushes and tall grasses are really thick right now so you really have to keep it in play, otherwise you’ll definitely lose it in there.
All the lakes have water in them which was nice to see!
Range mats need replacing, pretty sad to see those old mats.
But disappointed that we were lied to about the conditions, so that’s the reason for my rating.
And the POP was bad. Just over 5 hours and it wasn’t even windy
Carts suck !
We always enjoy your course and most of the time the course is in great shape. We saw the native portions of the course was very long and many balls were lost.
I would suggest this area to be mowed down which would improve the pace of play . Secondly, the carts are getting to old and are need or replacement, every cart in the line had torn seats, our cart happen to have a bald tire too. As usual our cart died on the 16th hole. The course collects a lot of money for the cart fees everyday
and should be in good working order. What is the money going for if not replacement carts ?????
At a rate of $32 per cart., the carts should be replaced on a regular bases. These carts should have been replaced 2 or 3 years ago. I hope in the near future there will be new carts at your course.. It ruins the entire day when the carts die almost every time we play your course
