Windy Day
Wide open course so any wind is magnified- it was a very windy day. Lots of water (2/3rds of the holes) and small /raised greens that took some getting used to. The 2nd cut of rough is 3-4" deep, ball in the 2nd cut makes for a difficult shot. Played with 2 buds, very enjoyable, 3 1/2 hour round. Greens are fairly true which made for a fun putting experience, helped that I played with a member- he gave me a few subtle green reads.. Took a couple holes to get the swing/putting/wind gauged, after which shot ok (4 over on the back 9).
Challenging course for a beginner
This course has some fantastic features. Pretty water features, good layout, and well-maintained. Friendly staff. Lots of varied elevations. Some holes were a little more challenging (read lost balls) than others I've played, but all in all it was a fantastic experience. My 15 year old son and I (both beginners) had an excellent time and will return often. At least until we can move up a tee or two :)
Great country course
One of the few courses you can play with no crowd. A country setting and cool breeze to relax.
Water traps a challenge
The staff allow golfers to play with their dos accompanying them. Very distracting. Dogs off their leash.
Good Value
This is a relatively new course, but it has good conditions.
Nice course
It's a nice course short and wide open. I was disappointed with the greens but everything else was I great condition
Amazing layout
First off would like to say this is a open and great course to play. The facility is still awaiting approval for building permanent structures on because the fly ash law suit in this area. The staff is nice but don't try to have 5 people play they don't allow it. Fairways are open and fun. If you play great golf this course can play challenging because of the green layouts. I really enjoy playing here and is now my favorite place as well as my brothers. My son played here and enjoyed it. There is no alcohol allowed but I stopped drinking a few at the course to focus on solid golf. Shot a 73 last time there but have shot as high as 85 before with missed greens.
The course was in great condition.
Nice open course. The greens were in very good condition and fast. I play here often. Great value for your dollar.
Good value
Why go to the driving range. For a few dollars more I can practice on a course. Yes, I'm a cheap golfer. Why pay $25 to $35 when other near by courses are the same or marginally better condition.
Battlefield on the rise
I encourage friends to play here because I find this layout to be fun and challenging. Rolling fairways, incredible greens, water and sand, it has everything. I like that every time I go here I can see signs that they are still working to improve the layout and the conditions for the players ( I find this more important than a lack of a fancy clubhouse and pro shop, or less-than primo carts that I've heard others mention - those are irrelevant to the course and the pace of play). I look forward to playing there again soon.
Beautiful new Champion Bermuda greens.
The Superintendent there has done a fantastic job with the new greens. They are rolling buttery smooth. Can't beat the price for the quality of the course! Was a playing practice round for me (still cheaper to play than 2 buckets of practice balls). Thank you.
I personally think this is a great course, especially for the price. Wish they had a clubhouse with some food but I'll bring a sandwich to play at the price the charge!
Water!
Good course. Lots of water. No club house, just a pro shop, vending machines and porta-Johns.
I wouldn't pay full price, but the "hot deal" is worth it. Good luck.
Interesting layout; no amenities
This is a moderately challenging course that has a really interesting layout. Water comes into play on many holes. There are a lot more elevation changes than is typical for courses in this area.
The greens are interesting; they almost look like they are artificial. They putt reasonably true, though. They don't hold approach shots well, as they are fairly hard.
I enjoy this course. It's a lot different from all the others.
They don't have a real clubhouse, the parking lot is dirt, and if you have to go, they only have porta-potties. On the plus side, though, their driving range is really nice and you can hit off grass. You can also practice sand shots.
Don't waste your time
Absolutely horrible conditions. Greens are the worst I've ever played. Pace of play was slower than ladies league night. The fairway and the rough was the same grass length. I wouldn't play there again if I got paid to play
Greens look dried out
Even with the current rains and warm weather the greens looked very dry and worn out. It was real hard to get a consistent roll when putting. Hopefully they will get to working the greens back into shape.
