Disgusting and potentially dangerous. A guy died from bacteria on a golf course once from nasty jugs. Photo submitted by JustaGOONER on 10/01/2019

One of the best public tracks you will find in the area...
This hidden gem is well worth the drive. We have played it several times and it has never disappointed. My son who is well seasoned in the golf industry from Florida said it was one of the best public courses he has played and loved it.
Because of the large amount of rain we have had in past few weeks, greens are a little soft and showing signs of heavy moisture however still roll very good. Course is always if good shape and we will continue to make the trek from Richmond to play here in the future! If you are looking for a hidden gem, make certain you put this track on your list...it will not dissapoint!
Good times
Greens were hard and slow but had good day golfing
Club championship pins
A very good course but isolated. Greens were in good shape and fairly fast and they had every pin tucked due to the Club Championship. 2nd cut was deep and thick and would sit down making it very tough to get a club on the back of the ball. Fairways were nice and the course had drained pretty well with only a few wet spots and the course allowed 90 deg. rule. It is a tough but very fair layout. Only my 2nd time playing there and not knowing where to hit and/or miss shots made putting and chipping difficult with the tucked pins and greens going away. I wish the bar/restaurant was open, very much enjoyed last time. Nice driving range and putting green. Highly recommend playing there. Bit of a long drive for me, but worth it every so often.
Nice Course!
This is a normally private course made available to GolfNow and TeeOff. I was able to get a good discount on the online price. The staff were very friendly to deal with . Behind the clubhouse is a nicely laid out range with balls provided with your green and cart fee.
This course has a number of long and challenging holes. It's in great condition and a lot of fun to play. You''ll enjoy playing here. The pace of play the few times I've played here has been good.
Love the layout
Good value. Greens were nice. Course is in good condition and they take care if it!
Amazing
Amazing layout, views, and conditions. It poured raining for a whole week. I was amazed how well the course drains. I highly recommend this place. Probably the top 3 courses I have played in Richmond, Va. I was just a little dissapointed that the range was closed, because of the rain. I dont believe the range should be closed for there convenience. If the course is open, wvwryone should have a chance to warm up and get the full experience.
Cut the grass
I get it. You've had lots of rain. You have plenty equipment that can trim THE FIRST CUT down to where you don't lose a ball if you just miss the fairway. I had great shots that I lost because the grass was so long. This is the first time all summer the course looked neglected. The bunkers weren't raked and one poor soul on #7 was weed-eating the lip of the bunker but not loosening up the concrete like surface where the sand should have been. $51 to lose 5 balls in the first cut, walk in ankle deep grass to get to the fairway, and then be relegated to the cart path (which I understand totally) made this the worst round here I have played. The only saving grace was the friendliness of the staff (pro shop guy and the lone weed-eater guy) and the pace of play. 18 holes in 3 hours kept my suffering to a minimum. $51 $51 I wish i could say I was done with this course but everyone deserves a mulligan in golf and I'm sure I will be back to battle again. I really do love this course.
Challenging course for women
Course is beautiful and this morning we were all alone. It's all long course but in good shape..
Great Course
I really like this course and free range balls makes an even better value. Course in overall at B condition.
had a great time
the tee shots had hazards just before or just after my drives. if you hit 280 from the white tees, this course fits very well. fun and challenging course.
Nice Course!
This was the second time this season I played at Lake Chesdin. The course was in very good shape. Due to recent rains, the range was closed. Normally, you have access to their range with plenty of balls included in the price to play. The practice green and chipping area were good to warm up on before playing.
The fairways were in very good shape and the greens ran true. The course has a nice layout and is quite a challenge with a number of the holes elevated and/or long. You'll enjoy playing here. The staff treats you well.
Staff was accommodating, course was challenging, finished in 2:40!!
Great time and value for the price paid, tricky layout for first timers
Beautiful course, beautiful views and layout. It is very tricky for first timers, Bc there are many blind trouble areas you cannot see from the tee! So be careful when choosing driver on the front 9 nine if you are a bomber. Range balls are included with your fees. They had bottled water on each side for you. It was a great course and I plan to play again!! This time I may not make as many pars but I won’t make 5 doubles either!!
