Great course to play in Vegas
Great course to play if you in Vegas, best value for your buck
great value
Played in the cold and wind so hard to judge layout. Greens were very good for january and playwas pretty fast. Staff was awesome.
Accuracy Off Tee Is Key
Most holes require you to clear 100+ yards of desert landscape to reach fairway. My high handicap buddy struggled.
Played the course many times. Still fun and will play again.
They need a course Marshal as there was very slow play that took away from good scoring and normal pace of play.
Great Value for the money.
This course was in good condition and the greens were rolling about 10. Quick pace as it was not too busy. Nice course to play for all levels and presents fair challenges.
Better than expected
I received a fantastic rate for I believe $35.00. I checked in and the gentleman was friendly at the pro - shop. I hit the driving range for a bit which had a small bag of balls included with the rate. I was a solo so ended up playing with 3 locals. I am not the best golfer and these guys were very friendly but I can tell you there is no rush on the Las Vegas courses!!! Based on some of the other reviews I expected this course to be in worse condition but there was nothing wrong with it at all especially for the price I got it for. The fairways could use a little more care at this time but I am assuming it is because of the recent overseeding? I would you go back again.
Wait until next year.
Played Thursday, October 24, for the first time. The Mountain 9 has a couple of nice LONG par 5's. Number 3 was playing 575 yards from the regular tees! The course in general is nicely layed out. But unfortunately, the course is playing like many, the fairways were a mess. The greens weren't much better. There were several holes that played as cart path only (including a par 5). That really can slow the play down.
I'm personally going to wait until February or March next year before I play here again. There are other courses that are so much more playable right now. It should give this course time to recover.
Fairways were awful
Nice layout, friendly staff, greens were spectacular, Fairways were unworthy of a $10 municipal course. Highly disappointing
Course still suffering from flood damage.
This is a course I play fairly often, and which is generally in really good shape. It is apparent that the course sustained significant flood damage in August, however, and has not been given an opportunity to repair itself. Fairways are thin and patchy; green side areas are very clumpy; greens were surprisingly fast and fairly smooth, but didn't look too healthy. It is clear that Silverstone should've followed Paiute's lead and shut down for post-flooding repairs, but didn't. I'll be back, but not for at least six months.
Course in good condition, some soft spots. Most likely due to all the heavy rain they had
Course in good condition but there were some rough spots. Staff was friendly. GPS on cart only gave yardages, would like a fly over or map.
Interesting course but terrible fairways.
Lots of desert which makes that course challenging. But fairways were in bad condition and did not deserve the 90$ we paid. Nice club house.
Course was not in good condition
The overall rating of the course was very good. At this time of the year, the course after over seeding and maybe some recent flood damage, was in need of some major attention. The fairways were tight, some muddy from the watering, grass was marginal at best, lies were questionable. I believe after a month or so, with much needed heat and growing time, the course would come back and be in excellent shape. I would not play the course for the price they charged this time of the year but later in the year, I believe the course would be fine. I plan to go back and play the course again.
Couse not in good shape
Played here on 10/12. I have played here before and course had been in much better shape that it is now. It's not the most challenging track you would ever play but has been a decent deal in the past. However, the day I played the greens were in decent shape, but the rest of the course was not. Fairways were very damp and lots of bare areas over fairways and tee boxes. One fairway looked like someone was doing doughnuts with a cart in the middle of it. They claim part of the problem was the wet summer they had, and they are overseeding to correct, but the other courses I played during the weekend were in much better condition. I'm not sure how much better the course will get in the next few months, but considering how much a round of golf is here, I would not play until course conditions improve.
course in bad shape.... poor condition.
Muddy, rye not grown in... greens very poor condition,
played several courses at half
the price that were in much better condition
Played after the Flood Damage
Enjoyed our round even though the fairways were in terrible shape and overseeded due to damage by a recent flood. We played with a local member who was friendly and apologised up front for the condition of the course. Play was a bit slow with a group of 5 up front so we finished in about 4.5 hours. The clubhouse facilities were very good.
The course is in deplorable condition, particularly for the price.
This is the worst value for golf that I may have ever experienced. The course was in unbelievably poor condition - the course should consider shutting down for a period to recover. Tee boxes were being filled in with wood chips. Fairways were either destroyed by over-watering, were filled with crab grass and weedy, or we devoid of grass altogether in some spots. Staff continued to use machinary while teeing off; some brazenly cut grass and did not move off the fairway or rough while lining up for approach shots. The workers were clearly obstructive. I was amazed to find out that this was not a brand new course trying to start up - in any case, no way should this course charge the current rates for this unmitigated bad golf experience.
Would Recommend with conditions
The course was in obvious need of attention primarily we understand due to the weather and the time of the year. That stated, no course marshal led to groups playing at a speed which had following groups backed up on tee boxes. Would advise to wait until the new golf season to play this course as there are others in Vegas that are not as rough
maintenance
For the level of course this is rated as, the course needed to be groomed and maintained better.
Was misslead by course advertising. What a mess!
The only thing this course lacked were the cows. It was a muddy mess. They advertised no over seading, but that is what was going on the whole time we played. Did not turn off the heavy equipment next to our ball location. I have played golf in extreme weather conditions, dust, rain, hail and even snow but this is the first time I have finished a game dirty and grimey. There was no rest rooms on the first nine. We drank no water after the 5th hole. My wife is 72 and I am 79 we need rest rooms. I would never play this course again.
Under going extensive maintainence
I liked the layout, but choose the wrong time of the year because so much work was going on to get ready for their prime golfing season.
