About
Situated between Richmond and Williamsburg, the Club at Viniterra sprawls across abundantly wooded hills. There is no shortage of elevation changes on this Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead-designed golf course. There is a difference of as much as 70 feet from the tee to the green on most of the holes. When combined with the mature trees, the result is a tough layout that demands accuracy. Thankfully though, there are not many water hazards to contend with but there is strategically placed bunkering throughout. The golf course also provides a scenic round with working vineyards running alongside the lush fairways. In addition to being challenging, the Club at Viniterra prides itself on their environmentally sensitive practices. The golf course saves as much as 80 percent of the water used on traditional courses thanks to the use of a drought-resistant grass hybrid.

Course needs TLC
This will probably be the last time I play this course. Course conditions were good, e.g., tee boxes, fairways, greens, However, almost every sand trap was unplayable; erosion, standing water and mud.
They built a new cart barn and have new carts - but they are gas carts! The carts have no ball or club washers, and the ice bucket was dry, even on a hot day! Every water station on the course was empty! 2 ball washers, 1 broken. No water offered on the turn. This course is neglected, there are better options.
Great Take
I’m from out of town and my in-laws aren’t golfers so I have to do a lot of “trial and error” when it comes to courses. Found this course on a random google search and it was awesome. Staff was super friendly, course is in awesome shape, cart girl/bar staff very accommodating, all around A+
Lots of open fairways, plenty of tee box selections for long hitters or beginners, greens rolled true, and course conditions were great. I’ve been to my fair share of courses in the area but this is my new spot.
Hot and slow
Great layout, greens a little bumpy. Fairways mostly good though thin on a couple. Practice grass excellent
Bunkers need attention, greens need people to fix ball marks. Over 4.5 hr round on a Friday not good. Marshal needed to keep up the pace. Beverage cart made things better. Water given before round was cool. Always a great course to play

Wife and I played the course the first time this year. It was in the best shape we have ever seen. We will play again.

This course has it all. Great layout, maybe little attention to some traps, would be needed, but all I all , great course.
Super nice setting and lay out, need more grass in the fairway
Excellent course design, environment is superb, really need grass on fairway, especially around greens. Artificial challenge rooted in unreasonable long distance with all the par 4 holes. Am handicap 13, with most of the course playing blue tees, I only use my 3 wood couple of times. Played green tee on this course, using fairway wood most of the time.
