Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Players Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole layout that has hosted the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments as well as numerous other events since it first opened in 1928. The course is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Players, and Baer. Each course has a different character but one characteristic they all have is the undulating terrain. All three golf courses also boast well manicured tees, greens, and fairways. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Tournament/Players course features the most water of the three combinations. The par-4 fifth hole on the Tournament nine has a particularly tricky forced carry over a large pond. In addition to the golf courses, Schaumburg has a practice facility that includes a driving range and two putting greens.

Schaumburg GC still good after all these years
Played 9 on the Tournament course and the course didn’t disappoint. The course was in excellent condition duration, staff was super friendly, and the cart person came around twice during the round.
Great course
A little pricey but the course conditions were really good!
It’s a gem
Fantastic course!! The best groomed course ever and staff unbelievable
Great course
Everything was great except the crabby guy in the pro shop. Must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed.
Great round and course
Course is in great shape and fun place for walking 9 or playing 18
So fun!
I don't know if it was the dry weather or the condition of the course, but my ball went flying and rolling farther than I've ever seen it do so. So, yes, I'm a happy camper. My only complaint is that the piece on the cart where the scorecard sits was broken and fell off. Thumbs up for the starter. Very pleasant!
Pretty great
I generally don't love "sardine can" courses where the holes are super tight/packed in. Schaumburg is one of these and this is my least favorite thing about it.
Aside from that, it was pretty great. The conditions/grounds are immaculate and the layout is pretty good and fun. The whole place is pretty fancy for a normal public joint and the course was fun. Would definitely recommend.
Best course I have played in Cook County
Outstanding all the way around! Bunkers had great sand. Compliments to team that runs it.
Course Starter
The starter tried to get us to share a cart. There were two people in our foursome walking and me and another guy each had our own cart. He told us they were short on carts. That is not my problem!! If SGC is short on carts then buy MORE CARTS!!!! The other guy was a Schaumburg resident and paid $5 more for his cart and that allowed us to each have our own cart! Very annoying to say the least!!!
A nice Monday afternoon at Schaumburg Golf Course
My wife and I played 9 holes on the Baer Course at a 3:35p tee time. The people in the golf shop were friendly, and there was a brief delay due to the lightning guard. We started play at about 4:00 with a third golfer who joined us. The course was in decent shape and is always fun to play. The greens were in good shape, although many have ball marks that haven’t been repaired. We stayed for dinner at Chandlers which has a solid menu and reasonable prices.
Love the pace of play
Course uses 10 minute tee times so pace is excellent. Wish all courses would do this to improve the golf experience.
Very Windy...then Rain on this day and the course was willing to give us rain-checks on unfinished round.
Quality course. Will be back.
