Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Players Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole layout that has hosted the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments as well as numerous other events since it first opened in 1928. The course is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Players, and Baer. Each course has a different character but one characteristic they all have is the undulating terrain. All three golf courses also boast well manicured tees, greens, and fairways. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Tournament/Players course features the most water of the three combinations. The par-4 fifth hole on the Tournament nine has a particularly tricky forced carry over a large pond. In addition to the golf courses, Schaumburg has a practice facility that includes a driving range and two putting greens.

Nice fairways
I have played here a few times and we always enjoy it. There is one hole that we call the "Oh no" and it's fun to play yet challenging. There is a small creek that runs in front of the green so you have to place your shot strategically. The entire course is fun to play. The halfway mark has a great little snack shop and restrooms. Plenty of restrooms around the course as well...for women this is very important! It's a very clean, well kept course that we really enjoy!
Geeat shape.
Love the layout. Greens and fairways in great shape. New sand on all 3 nines is a great improvement. Friendly staff. Played in 4 hours. . $62 to ride in the morning is a bit much compared to some of the other great suburban courses, but its not a terrible value.
Course in great shape, cart fee is terrible.
Be aware that a cart will cost you $28 if you're a solo, $38 for a twosome. In other words, almost as much as greens fees. This isn't the only course doing things this way (offering only walking rates and not posting cart fee) but talk about sticker shock when you hear the fee.
That being said, the course is in great shape and fun. Pace of play is often slowish, but have enjoyed my couple rounds there this year and likely to return.
If looking to play a challenging 9, this is a must.
Our son and I walked and played 9 - course is in great condition and the pace of play was great. Very nice starters and overall, a great experience.
Best course i've found in the area (so far)
Really fun course architecture. There is a lot of attention to detail and fun areas around the greens.
Covid golf
Course is well maintained! Greens are fast. Even though golfers are teed 10 min apart a twosome with a cart quickly catches up to a foursome of walkers that gets aggravating! All in all worth the money!
High cart fees
Really great course in terrific shape. I thought I was getting a deal by booking the walking rate online. I figured it would be $10 more for a cart. I was surprised they wanted $20 per person for two carts, adding $80 to the total.
Great course
Great course and maintained well. Surprised by the cart rental charge when we got there, being $19 per person for 1 cart. It was well worth it though cus my large bodied and lazy self can’t walk any 18 hole course. Overall enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone.
SGC is my go to course.
My go to course. 27 holes allows for someone like me that plays often to change things up a bit. Everything about SGC is very nice.
Great Sunday
Unbelievable course with a unbelievable restaurant w/a beautiful patio. Great service from Jenny.
