Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Players Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole layout that has hosted the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments as well as numerous other events since it first opened in 1928. The course is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Players, and Baer. Each course has a different character but one characteristic they all have is the undulating terrain. All three golf courses also boast well manicured tees, greens, and fairways. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Tournament/Players course features the most water of the three combinations. The par-4 fifth hole on the Tournament nine has a particularly tricky forced carry over a large pond. In addition to the golf courses, Schaumburg has a practice facility that includes a driving range and two putting greens.

great course hidden gem
course is a hidden gem, you would never know it is one of the best conditioned courses in a 50 mile radius...private or public
Consistently good
SGC is always beautifully maintained. They offer 27 holes, so you can play their weekly and still find new challenges or experiences. The staff is always very friendly; probably my favorite staff in the NW burbs. Perfect amount of water elements to challenge you, but not donate a box of balls. All in all, great course.
Great public course
Schaumburg is always a great kept track. It's that time of the year were airratting is going on so greens didn't roll as well as the rest of the year. Little bumpy.
Consistency
Schaumburg Golf Club is always a great place to play. The course is very well kept, having 27 holes keeps things fresh, and the staff is always very friendly. Our go-to spot in the NW Burbs.
Love playing here
Staff and grounds crew do a fabulous job keeping this course in a great shape. Pace of play was a little slow but multiple times the ranger came by trying to keep everyone moving along. It was expected for a Saturday. Will be back soon.
Aeration, Beware! Otherwise great track
Played 9 on the Tournament Course. Starter said they aerated 3 weeks ago but it’s still really rough… especially 7-9 were so bad it’s almost impossible to make a putt outside 4 feet
Otherwise course is sweet and I’ll definitely be back next year
Fun
It is a good course most holes are forgiving. but greens are tough.a good challenge for any golfer and definitely worth the price of admission!
Great layout. Fair yet challenging. 4 stars -
One of the better public course options in Chicagoland. The layout is great and fairways and tees are in good shape. 4 stars because greens are beat up, the range is Mat only, and it’s on the higher price range for public golf (~$100)
One of the 9s were recently aerated so the other courses are seeing heavier traffic.
Course condition and amenities
The course was in great shape. Little to no rain in past several weeks but it was not noticeable. Carts, bathrooms and clubhouse are all in great condition. The 2nd par 5 on tournament is probably my favorite hole.
This course should’ve remained private
I tried getting my dad and his buddies to play here and because I work at the Park district I thought my discount would work for everyone and unfortunately it did not so they had the pay the whole fee which ended up being pretty expensive. At first glance the course looks great, it’s easy to get too and the parking lot is plenty big. The staff is pretty helpful getting you to where you need to play because there is 3, 9-hole courses and actually we had a problem with a walker getting confused on what hole he was on… the golf carts are definitely worth adding to the fee however for the price I thought the greens were pretty beat up, there were divots and little pieces of rubble and sand all over the place. I thought the bunkers were very nice and the fairways looked clean however the tee boxes as well were in bad shape. Overall this is somewhere I can come after work and play because they have all the amenities as far as the range and practice putting green but as far as bringing groups here I would stay away definitely over priced.
Please repair ball marks on the greens!!!!
Course was in great condition considering the lack of rain. But could you PLEASE repair your ball marks when you hit the green!! Otherwise great track.
What a great course
I haven't played Schaumburg for years and it was great coming back. Since I last played here, the course has been totally upgraded. It is tough but beautiful with open fairways and firm and fast greens. I actually had my only hole-in-one here in 1999!! I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you can get a Golf Now deal like we did ($44 plus cart). I'm looking forward to playing here regularly in the future.
