Great course with excellent views
Arscott is a very friendly club and the course is very enjoyable. Some long par 4s make some holes tough, but tough is good. Some tree placements add to the interest and make you play unflavoured club choices. Little hills are used well especially on the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 18th. Very picturesque use of water around holes 16 - 18. Greens not overly fast and when I played last were just recovering from coring. Overall not an easy course but not too tough - you tend to make your own trouble with your choices!
Lovely scenic course near Shrewsbury.
Lovely scenic & quiet golf course in the lovely Shropshire countryside with some challenging holes to play. Friendly staff with all you need for a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. There are practice facilities to get you warmed up & then the first hole which is a short par three gets you on your way. I would recommend this course to my friends with no hesitation.
Second time my son and I have played Arscott on a hot deal with golf now and we both intend to join the course is a very good challenge with large greens and lots it changes in elevation and fantastic scenery
Quiet
Nice quiet course great greens and fairways in excellent condition very affordable.lodge accommodation on site well worth a stay played every day, friendly and helpful staff bar and catering facilities limited due to current pandemic thoughly great all round club.
Lovely course
Visiting in the area, booked through golf now app. Really enjoyed the views, and relief of the course. Great last hole, blind drive then approach to an elevated green over water!
Brilliant value for money
My mom is receiving dialysis at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and as I live in Staffordshire I needed to kill a few hours. I figured I’d play 18 holes at one of the local courses. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the course was quite interesting and in pretty good condition. Well worth the money!
Great value for money
Always nice to play a course that is in great condition, the greens particularly are well kept.
Disappointing
Poor greens , overground fairways and strange course layout .
The course starts with a par 3 of less than 90yds which is more typical of a pitch and putt course .
With the exception of the last 3 holes , the layout is unimaginative and not very challenging.
Trickier than it looks
Tight, well laid out course requiring a bit of thought off the tee. Perfect weather, friendly staff and magnificent views. Great value.
A local gem
I've played Arscot 3 or 4 times this year, and on a few other occasions over the last 5 years. I must say that I've always enjoyed playing there. A beautiful setting, with exceptional views on many of the holes. A gentle 100yd par 3 to get you started is then followed by a lovely variation of holes - a flat, straight par 4, a par 3 from an elevated tee, a dogleg par 4 and then a few lung-busters up and down some hills - particularly difficult in the 32 degrees i played in recently! An excellent finishing 4 holes are positioned beyond the car park and loop back to the clubhouse. The pro, staff and members are always friendly and willing to chat.
The course provides a great challenge for all level of golfer and definitely worth a visit.
Good challenge
Played on a windy, drizzly day. Made several of the holes rather challenging, but overall, for an occasional golfer like me, a good course with interesting holes. Played on my own but was made to feel welcome. Will return.
