Belfry Golf Club - The Brabazon Course

Played the Brabazon with my Son and Dad, the greens were in excellent condition and really challenging when reading them the line you thought you had was not not always the line you got which made them interesting, fairways were in fair condition , overall course looked as thought needed some investment to tidy things up. When we checked into the pro shop told to take ticket to starter to collect score cards etc- no starter at all so had to go back to clubhouse again to get scorecards- no real sence of occasion all other clubs have been fortunate enough to play at Glen Eagles, St Andrew's, Celtic Manor, Archerfields you really felt as though your were very welcome and it made the occasion.The Belfry felt you were a number you had paid your fee and get on with it which l felt a little disappointed by.The highlight of the round was my son (16 years old) drove the 10th green 10ft from the pin chipped on and putted for Birdie! What great golf days are all about making memories.

Great experience on a famous venue , tough course playing it’s full length with very little run to assist. Some long carries over water

Lots of wear with visitors but still an interesting and special course.

Seven star golf course in perfect condition. Warm sunny weather was an added bonus.

Where would like to play as a Birthday Treat , I said to my pal as he approached a landmark birthday, mmm The Belfry , Brabazon. Great facilities , good shop with courteous helpful staff. Plenty of choices of bars etc to have lunch, which was served promptly and was well presented if a trifle overpriced . Course tough but in good condition , plenty of long carries over water. Starter was very helpful , friendly and courtesy. All in all a good venue

Brabazon fairly tough although not much wind so that helped. Course in good condition, greens pretty true although not as fast as they were when I ad played previously.

Really helpful and pleasant staff. Starter friendly and extremely helpful.

Course set up excellent, and in very good condition considering the volume of rain which had fallen in previous week!

Pace of play was extremely slow, I appreciate that they state 18 holes could take 41/2 hours.

However when there are 2 ball games holding up 4 ball games I find this unacceptable.

There were no on course marshalls to help improve the speed of play which is of concern at a venue such as this.

Unable to play as there are clouds of flies everywhere , the semi is that long and yes I said semi that you have to be standing over your ball to see it! Which then as you can imagine produces slow and frustrating play. So unless you can play only fairways and greens and don’t mind flies in your eyes and mouths don’t bother and play somewhere else cheaper and more enjoyable.

Considering the weather the course was in good condition. great experience to play a previous Ryder Cup course

Do not have time to list all the superlatives in relation to our round of golf and overnight stay at the hotel.

Was lucky enough to attend a couple of the Ryder Cup matches here in the 80's... so this course holds some extremely fond memories.

Course in absolutely tip-top manicured condition. Starter and course marshal did a great job of introducing the course, its history and how best to play it for what was a very mixed handicap group.

Pace of play was perfect... no hold-ups as they adopt a 10-minute gap between tee times... unlike some other money-grabbing courses who go for 8 minutes to cram as many people on as possible and leave you standing for 5 minutes on every tee.

The standard of service in the hotel was equivalent to a top US hotel... nothing was too much trouble and the staff were extremely attentive and genuine in their desire to make your stay something you would remember positively.

The Brabazon Course still lives up to the iconic status it enjoys as the course that has hosted more Ryder Cups than any other.

We will be back next year.

It's pretty amazing and for the £60 fee isn't such an expensive day when you factor in you won't play a better course all year, loved it, awesome experience and the Belfry itself is a classy place.

An exceptional course with challenging signature holes. The Brabazon is definitely a course you have to play at least once.

A wonderful experience to play a course with several excellent holes and obvious signature holes that make the difference.

The course was in amazing condition , even after the heavy rain we had,,,was well impressed,, and definitely coming back
