Gud stuff course although greens could have been better
Good Challenge - Great Variety
First time playing here and very impressed. Members and visitors alike all friendly and Covid restrictions well sign posted. Great course with a mixture of holes and some tremendous views to add. Once all the leaves on the trees have grown and the greens are up to full speed, this will be a great day out at a brilliant price. Highly recomended.
A tough walk, and a testing course but very enjoyable..
Tricky and tight course
The course was in ok condition given the rest it has had due to lockdown. There was a few areas of ground under repair, greens were patchy in places. It was extremely busy and play was slow.
First round back after lockdown, so course was understandably very busy. Course is a good challenge- very hilly, kept in nice condition. Greens a bit slow and bobbly though. Locals very friendly.
Good course
Layout nice in terms of different challenging par 4s and 5s and some really pleasant par 3s too. Course is in good condition but there was definitely slow play in front of us, assume at the moment all courses are pretty busy though
Shocking - Do not play Blackburn golf club
I am not a person to write a review, but today me and 2 friends played golf here and it took 3 hours to play 11 holes when we decided to walk off.
The 3 ball we had today were all category 1 golfers and have experienced golf from across all of the country. The experience we had today was by far the worst of all.
After nearly being hit 10 times whilst playing the course the way it’s meant to be played, we decided it was enough and time to call it a day. Whilst walking off we saw at least 3 groups all drinking on the course and playing as if it were a pitch and putt.
We also witnessed a violent altercation on the course which pretty much topped the day off.
If you have any sense you will not play this golf course. Stay in your garden and hit balls into the net as it is far more fun.
The quality of the course is shocking also. There are divots on the greens which have been repaired tragically, there has been no attempt to rake bunkers and the car park is one of the most dangerous I’ve ever seen.
Please either save yourself some money and not play or play elsewhere.
Blackburn Golf Club
The course all in all is a good course, the layout is good with lots of different holes, challenging enough to, greens ran a little slow but obviously these challenging times have a lot to do with that, also I’d spoke to 4 different groups that were playing at different courses the day before and the green feedback from them was the same,, to be honest I’d definitely go back and play the course again, can imagine over the next couple of months with the weather and everything back to normal the course will be a belter, so yes I’d definitely recommend Blackburn Golf Club and look forward to playing there in the future, also my tee off time was 7:45am and there were green keepers out there at that time working hard so they are all really good signs for the coming weeks and months. See you soon Blackburn Golf Club and thank you
Value for money
Nice course some great holes both up and down hill. Played day after lockdown restrictions had been eased so really enjoyed it. Members were friendly and pace play was spot on. Only downside was it was bit boggy in places and greens were not in the best condition but the weather ain't been the best so you could see the green staff getting them back in decent nick with better weather to come. Nice course.
Decent course, not exceptional
Reasonable course, little boggy in parts and have played on better greens but not too bad.
Hidden Gem
We always make a trip to Blackburn GC. It’s always a nice place to have a round. A great variety of holes. I wouldn’t say it was a hilly course but it does have a lung busting hill back end of the back nine. The course is always kept nicely with green keepers working away. There was sand on the greens but they ran well. No problem with the sand it’s just that time of year and it has to go on at some point in the year. Clubhouse was very welcoming even with the new restrictions. The steward couldn’t do enough for us.
All in all a brilliant day!!!
Great course
First time playing Blackburn, was very very happy with conditions and the course it's self! Would 100% recommend and 100% would play again.
Recommend
Although a bit of a challenge to find a few holes and tees. This is a brilliantly maintained course, I paid £15 per person and consider that a bargain compared to other recent courses visited.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone to visit. Front 9 is a bit hilly but is more downhill on the back 9.
