Played loads of times. The fairways a and greens are looking good. At the moment. Well done
Hidden jem
The course was in excellent condition , a good test of golf, friendly staff and well organised services.
Highly recommend
Back after 20 years. I'll back a lot sooner!
At a loose end, so saw this course and remembered playing it 20 odd years ago. Tough opening hole followed by a par 3 and then you cross the road to play holes 3-9.. Its a great muni with great greens and a good layout. Well worth the £15, just accept its a municipal and it doesn't have all the whistles and bells of a private course.
Well maintained
Fantastic course - well maintained! You can even hear the animals at the Blackpool zoo!
Travesty
It’s a travesty that this course will soon no longer exist, shame on Blackpool council for even considering letting it close. A great course with great people that with a little bit of money could be a fantastic course.
Course layout is excellent in the Mckenzie style, with a bit more pace on the greens it could test the best of golfers. Would certainly want to play again for both the challenge and the benefit of the lovely people working there.
Legendary course
Travesty and criminal the council are allowing this great course to be partially sold off. They should be ashamed but doubtless won't care.
Outstanding municipal
Immaculate course, the best municipal I've ever played. Will definitely play here again + would definitely recommend
Superb first nine
Superb course in great condition
All for £12!
Beautiful front 9
Gorgeous par 3s
Some very long par 4s
Love it
booking mistake
Dear sirs there has been a mistake in the booking- the round of golf I booked was for5 June 11.52 it is to coincide with a short break i am taking in Lythm near Blackpoo Please advise???? Mr Kelvyn Travis
Unfortunately weather battered
The terrible weather we had over the past few months has not done the course any favours, particularly on the Hospital side which has the more interesting holes. The greens on the course are tiny. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my round, other players we met on the course were friendly and easy going and it was quiet.
You get what you pay for.
At about £12 a round midweek, this course does offer value for money, but as it's a municipal you have to understand there'll be plenty of beginners, so expect slow play and a lack of understanding of etiquette (the two ball in front of me both played multiple balls off the tee until they hit a 'good un' even if this meant hitting 8 shots).
It's a place to learn, or a place to practice your long game, but don't expect great conditions. The greens were solid, not quite as bad as tarmac, but I guess it's the only defence against people who don't understand that pitch marks need repair.
The practice putting green is poor, but thankfully the main greens were better than that, though don't expect your feel from the practice area to transfer to the course.
Friendly staff, easy to get a game midweek, and several nice holes. Some good points and some bad, but what do you expect for £12 ???
