Blackpool Park Golf Club - Stanley Park Course

Good,well maintained course,greens are a bit slow.Only downside is that the drainage is very bad in certain areas.

Unfortunately, due to the weather of late the ground was not very well drained and VERY boggy. “Fairways” were nearly 4 inch high grass, genuinely like playing in deep rough all day. Greens were okay however players not repairing pitch marks in every single one in play. Bunkers don’t have rakes and a few holes under construction directly in lay up areas so it makes the holes play more aggressive lines.

Overall, not the best course conditions at this time, however if the course was maintained better it could be a remotely cheap playable course. Tee Boxes are not ideal with it just being undulating swampy boxes.

Enjoyed this course. Lots of variety up and down hill. Great walk and super value. I'll be back.

Slow is not the word.

I play reasonably quickly, let’s face it, I’m not that great and it’s not the Open so I don’t need to spend 5 mins deciding each club, (only to duff it 25 yards) and spend another 5 mins reading each putt, and neither do you!!!

Caught up the 2 ball after 2 holes (not their fault) they let me through after the 5th while looking for a ball.

Caught up the next 2 ball on the tee for the 7th, again let me through. Caught up to the next 2 ball by the 9th.

Got to the 10th (par 3) and there was a literal queue.

1 x 3 ball on the green and 2 x 2 ball waiting.

I waited 15-20 mins to play the hole, looked at the 11th tee and saw the first of the 2 balls hadn’t tee’d off yet so went home. Funny thing is, I usually play Staining but stopped due to slow play. 7-8 mins between tee times when there are 3-4 balls who aren’t very good isn’t right. It cannot be that hard to block a tee time if there are 2 x 3-4balls heading out after each other.

Ok, so there has been a LOT of rain recently and not the courses fault it was waterlogged but holes 3-9 were in terrible condition. Overall a nice course but litter everywhere, don’t understand why dirty scumbags cannot put their rubbish in a bin or in their bag.

Not many bins on course, no obvious distance markers and no ball cleaners that I could see. Wouldn’t play on a Friday or after rain again.

Even after all the rain the course was in great condition. Look forward to returning.

I play this course regularly, booked through Golfnow,as it's a lovely course and we really enjoy playing here. Unfortunately on this occasion it was ruined by our early morning tee time at 6.48 am having 8 players booked at the same time. This caused slow play most of the round. It's the first time I've been disappointed playing here.

the course is a pleasure to play especially with the great weather lots of sun & got to say the condition the course is in is a credit to the green keepers & staff

Course was in fair condition but greens were quite slow. Booking was easy and reception at the course was very good. Course wasn’t busy so went round in good time.

Managed to get the last available time, course busy but speed of play was great, very happy to see all holes in play, the best part of the course is over the road behind Victoria hospital.. so glad to see the planning/ closure of these holes cancelled 👍

normally the greens aren't bad but if i play this course again & they are in the terrible condition that i encountered this time i played i wont play this course again its obvious that the greens were not mowed for at least a couple of days they were ridiculously long & spoilt the golf completely it was a waste of time playing the course

Very enjoyable course to play. A few quirky features to the course but they add to it. Some serious drainage work on going but it only affects two holes and not a big issue. greens challenging at the moment however we on the back end of 6 weeks with hardly any rain.

Will play it again

The course was in fairly decent condition. Fairways were well tended and rough we’ll cut back. The greens were very slow but played quite consistently. It is great value for money.

An enjoyable round, but unfortunately 3 holes were closed due to utilities work. Perhaps a partial refund would have been in order.

If I could give pace of play 0 stars then I would, the 4 ball in front had carts and we (a 2 ball) still kept up to them and they would not let us play through. We walked off at the 11th hole as it was a waste of time.

There was also a digger in the middle of one of the fairways and the greens were awfully kept, which for this time of year is unexpected.
