Bolton Golf Club

We got paired to play with two members which worked out ideal. Not only did we get some great course insight and knowledge but they were both really nice guys.

Course Is really nice. In great condition. The greens are rapid so that took some adjustment.

Will be visiting again and possibly looking into membership next year.

The only thing that let the place down was we were locked in. We had no way of getting out because of the barrier. Everything was locked up and required a members card to open it.

Nice course not very long but some very nice holes and views

Conditions fantastic but not a particulary memorable course.

First impressions, the visitor/overflow car park was full, and therefore had to park on the grass. Another negative was there was very little signage to point to the next tee. We were also following a 5ball? On a number of holes, there was a tee close to a green, which was a little off-putting for us. But we enjoyed the course overall, found the greens to be a nice pace, some interesting holes, but such a shame the amount of divots that have been left.

Course was in excellent condition. Greens were fast. Credit to the green keepers. Perfect weather. Great round of golf in good company.

The rest of the course was lovely. Tough testing track as well. Does help to play a couple of times as some shots will catch you out. A lot of undulating ground which can punish you if on the wrong side of it.

Members are very friendly.

A lovely course to play, greens quick and well looked after. Some holes have a significant slope so even good drives ended up in the rough due to the dry course having no rain.

Would play again

Played this course for the first time and was very impressed with the experience, from the friendly reception we received in the pro shop staff and the fantastic condition of the course the greens were better than many others are in the summertime. This is one I can’t wait to play again.

Amazing course, this was the second time we played and was looking forward to playing again.

Ended up massively disappointed as the greens were closed when we turned up due to frost. No issue with them being closed but you would think the club would have the decency to ring up and inform visitors booked on before we turned up. Not to mention the website course status was not updated to say greens closed. The status informed us that the full course was open...

All in all a wasted day and a huge waste of money.

Good course, not too busy, great final 5 holes and a tough index 1.

Quite hilly in parts .

Superb practice facilities.

Like most inland courses suffers from damp and winter conditions and will get better as weather improves. Condition generally average, greens slow and bumpy with some bare patches. Fairways ok with some bare patches.

For the price it was a good golfing experience although very windy and quite cold.

First time playing this course but it won’t be the last. It’s hilly at times, mainly between tees but not too taxing to make it unjoyable. It had some lovey holes. Luckily the pro was great at explaining the 7th and 13th. If you haven’t played, don’t go further than 200 off the tee. The greens were the only downside, you couldn’t chip and run you would go through the green, every time. You had to either get a lot of spin or tower shots in. The greens were also patchy but ran pretty true to their credit. Recommend anyone to play. Especially on a hot deal.

My and my Mate booked for 15:00 and tee,d off bang on time, you could never play this course a while back as it was members only. The course was beautiful with stunning scenery and was a great challenge also.staff were very informative and helpful.

I highly recommend playing this course i would probably say its the best in Bolton definatley.

Played off 3 temporary tees due to recent wet weather but full greens - course generally in great condition with greens running fast and true; members were welcoming and information and help in club shop was excellent - challenging course with some great views - would definitely recommend a visit and hope to play it again over the summer
