Shocking!

I haven't played this course for many years and it certainly wasn't worth £23 for the round. The greens were shocking, the rough was full of debris and all amenities were either broken or didn't work, the course was reasonably busy as it was a Sunday but the bar wasn't open and they weren't serving any food. What a shame as it used to be an alright course.

This course is garbage

Best thing was it was so dead we flew round before we quit.

Greens were dead and dying in spots while weeds sprouting up.

Overgrown tee boxes.

Dead grass left in fairways.

Practice green was in disrepair.

Great potential for a course but needs alot of tlc.

13 pound hot deals felt scammed. Will not return

Better than I anticipated

For some context I used to be a member of this course but had to leave as I was re locating.

After reading recent review I was expecting the worse but for £12 for a midweek practise game I thought why not. The best thing about this course was how empty it was and I could take my time and drop balls anywhere to practice.

The greens are not the best but I expected this after reading the reviews and also very hard to differentiate between the fairway and first cut rough and if you are slightly off line and in the rough then it’s game over with little to no chance in finding your ball. Also the dead grass on the fairway I really annoying as well.

I’m not going to slate this course and put it down as it has the potential to be a lovely course but it needs some TLC in the correct areas, it’s not hard to have 18 good greens and sweep up the dead grass. Other course around the area seem to manage it just fine.

This place is a diamond in the rough begging to show its full potential but needs more assistance to do so.

There used to be ample practice areas but they have been filled with new trees.

A very generous 3 star review, I have no doubt this will be commented on and excuses will be put forward but sometimes you need to take accountability and spot making excuse and just do better as this course sadly has went down hill from where it once was.

Improving each week

The course is improving every time I play.

Some of the greens need some work but overall the staff are doing a great job when you consider how bad it had become after the sodden start to the year.

This Course Is Greatly Improved

Having played today and also played at the winter period, I kind of understand some of the context posted in the reviews during the winter, but the course did struggle as many others in the winter locally. However, you have to acknowledge that the course today was very enjoyable and has moved on immensely from recent months (you can see the work they are implementing to go from average to good to great, it’s a journey you can see the course is on and worth acknowledging) is it great at present, no, but is the work being completed making it a pleasure to play “for sure” I’m sure over the coming weeks it will improve further to challenge local courses around and move to great

Absolutely terrible

We payed here about 10 years ago & it was in very good condition however having read recent poor reviews we still gave it a go

Very disappointing is a under statement too much long grass everywhere from tee boxes, down fairways, electric buggy was towing

Greens were a disgrace

Lack of maintenance is clearly showing

There were 6 cars in the car park & 9 when we came out that tells a story

18 pound I wouldn't play it if was for nothing

Disappointed

Really disappointed with the course. Played it in winter 2023 and thought it would be a good course in the summer so we went back.

The fairways were like the first cut of rough, the greens were like fairways and the bunkers were out of play.

The fairways and rough were full of mulch too.

Good but could be better

I really enjoy the course but it’s frustrating that the rough is ridiculous long and it’s covered in dieing cut grass so balls can be very hard to find winter is covered in leafs but the lay out is fantastic without the silly issues it could be a fantastic course

Such a shame!

There is a great course here, but unfortunately it is under lots and lots of grass! Whether that be overgrown, or just the piles of grass cuttings left.

Be prepared to lose a lot of balls!!! And that’s on the fairway too!

Played a few times over the last year and it has steadily got worse each time. With some TLC would be a great course to play , with some interesting and challenging holes. But unfortunately it just seems to be neglected, and in its current condition isn’t even worth £10 a round, let alone the £20+ charged on a weekend.

Praying something is done to improve the condition, as being a local would play here almost every week. But until then, much rather drive 20-30 miles to the many many courses that are looked after.

Course is in poor condition, in urgent need of attention

Grass clippings need to be collected, especially on the fairways. Grass has been allowed to grow too long on several fairways, bunkers are rock hard. Course has deteriorated dramatically from previous years.

Terrible Golf Course

The maintenance is extremely poor. There is long grass everywhere, even in the fairway. Indeed there is almost no fairway for a number of holes so we are forced to skip those holes.

One of the reasons for the poor condition of the course is because they use robots to trim the grass. The problem is that the trimed grass are left on the course so they stack up like a couple of feet thick Whenever the ball land on these grass pile, which cover almost the whole course except the Tee and the green area, you can never find the ball. So, you will keep on losing balls for almost every hole, and even if you are lucky to find the ball, you will spend most of the time in looking for balls instead of playing golf.

Buy a lawnmower

£15 - Bargain I thought when booking. The course has a decent layout with some interesting holes, but there’s a desperate need for sand in the bunkers and the course needs mowing literally everywhere. There’s were daisies on the first tee which set the scene. The first cut was so deep it was very difficult to find a ball but the greens weren’t too bad, would be even better with some care & attention. There’s obviously greenkeeper activity as there was piles of grass cuttings everywhere and hundreds of new trees planted. If some more effort was put in it could be decent but for now it’s poor mainly due to the length on the grass on tees, fairways and in in particular the rough.

Are there greenkeepers?

The member of staff in the shop was really friendly, the shop is well stocked for your needs.

The course condition was awful, tee box grass far too long, semi rough still had grass cuttings on, greens has daises and dandelions growing in them along with lots of worm casts. It was not worth the £18 considering the amount of balls we lost in the 1st cut of the rough due to the grass cuttings.

What a disappointment

I should have realised that something was wrong when we drover into the car park just after lunch on a Sunday afternoon and it was completely empty. I went into the pro shop to see if the course was open, the young lad said it was except the bunkers had no sand in them and the rough was very rough!

We had travelled a long way and paid up front on a Hot Deal so though we would give it a go, BIG MISTAKE!

The tee boxes were tatty, the grass on the fairways was far too long with huge clumps of dead grass everywhere,, the first cut was so long if a ball landed in it, it was at best unplayable at worst lost! This was made even worse by the extremely long carry from the tees to the fairway, you had to be a very big hitter to ever get close.

After hacking our way round 9 holes we went to the club house to use the toilets, to our dismay it was all shut up with no one in sight, even the toilet were locked which was very frustrating as one of our 3 ball was a lady!

We returned to the course but only managed a couple more holes before calling it a day, in the entire time we were there I never saw another person!

This golf course is a joke and as you can imagine I'll never play it again or recommend anyone else to waste there money!!!
